Story & Lesson Highlights with Ashley Farrier of Sarasota

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ashley Farrier. Check out our conversation below.

Ashley, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I’m incredibly honored to share that my business was recently nominated for Best in Florida, and we won! It means the world to have the support of such an amazing community. I’m truly grateful for every client, friend, and supporter who voted and believed in us. A huge thank you to my incredible team as well. Their shared vision and dedication made this possible. What an unforgettable moment!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Ashley Farrier, proud owner of Ashley’s Here to Help Pet Care. Caring for pets is my passion. Alongside my dedicated team, we offer a range of services including pet sitting, dog walking, pet transportation, and dog park visits. With a background as a veterinary assistant in emergency, specialty, and wellness clinics, I bring hands-on experience and deep compassion to every pet we care for. Providing patient, loving, and reliable care is at the heart of what we do, because your peace of mind matters just as much as your pet’s well-being.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Pets.
Before I had it all figured out, before I knew my path, my strength, my worth, they already did. They saw me. Not my titles, or to-do lists, or my doubts. Just the real me.
The one with a kind heart and tired eyes.
The one who tries, who cares, who keeps going. To them, I was never too much or not enough. To them I was perfect, exactly as I am. They always greeted me like sunshine, followed me like a shadow, and celebrated even the smallest moments, as if I were their whole world. Because to them, I was. I didn’t need to explain. I didn’t need to earn it. I just needed to be.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Failure.
Not just the stumble, but what it might mean. That maybe you’re not good enough.
That maybe they’ll see you’re not perfect.
That maybe trying and falling is worse than not trying at all. “What if you give it everything… and still fall short?” But here’s the truth: Failure isn’t the opposite of success. It’s the path to it. Every misstep is data. Every setback, a doorway. Every fall, a chance to rise smarter, braver, stronger. The fear of failure only has power when you let it silence your effort. But when you face it, when you try anyway you grow. You change. You move. And maybe you’ll fall. But maybe… you’ll fly.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Integrity.
My friends would say I care more about doing what’s right than what’s easy. That I keep my word, even when no one’s watching. That I show up with honesty, even when it’s uncomfortable. They’ve seen me walk away from things that didn’t align with my values. They’ve watched me stand firm when others would bend. Not out of pride, but out of principle. They’d say my loyalty runs deep. That I don’t play games with people’s trust. That when I speak, it’s real.
I don’t just talk about values, I live them.
Because to me, success without integrity isn’t really success at all.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am doing what I was born to do, taking care of animals. It’s more than a job or a passion.
It’s a calling. A deep knowing that my purpose is wrapped up in their care, their trust, and their well-being. Every wagging tail, every gentle purr, every trusting gaze, reminds me why I’m here. To heal, to protect, to love without conditions. In their eyes, I find my purpose. In their presence, I find my peace. And in caring for pets, I’m caring for something greater than myself. This is where I belong. This is what I was born to do.
