We’re looking forward to introducing you to Aizhan Oshakbayeva. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Aizhan, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Who are you learning from right now?
“I’m learning that patience and small daily steps often lead to the biggest changes over time.”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Aizhan Oshakbayeva , i’m originally from Kazakhstan and moved to United States to chase my dreams 15 years ago. . I’m a mother , to a beautiful girl , wedding photographer and influencer who loves capturing life’s most beautiful and authentic moments. Photography allows me to tell stories through emotions, light, and small details that often go unnoticed. Beyond the camera, I share my creative journey, inspirations, and everyday life with my community, hoping to inspire others to embrace their own style and passion. Right now, I’m learning to grow even more as an artist while staying true to myself.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that really shaped how I see the world was the first time I captured a wedding where the couple’s love felt so raw and unfiltered—laughing, crying, and simply being themselves. Seeing that kind of honesty made me realize how powerful genuine moments are, and how much beauty exists in everyday emotions. It taught me to look beyond appearances and appreciate the depth in people, stories, and life itself.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes—there was a moment I almost gave up. I reached a point where the pressure, self‑doubt, and constant comparison made me question whether I was good enough to keep going. But stepping back reminded me why I started: the feeling I get when I capture a real, emotional moment that becomes someone’s forever memory. That reminder pulled me through and became one of the biggest turning points in my career.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say that what really matters to me is connection—genuine moments with people I care about, capturing memories that last, and creating a life that feels authentic. They’d also say I care deeply about creativity and passion, and about showing up fully in everything I do, whether it’s work, friendships, or family.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, I would stop wasting time on self-doubt and trying to fit into expectations that aren’t mine. I’d stop holding back my creativity, my voice, and the things that make me feel alive. Life is too short not to fully embrace what you love and who you truly are.
