Rising Stars: Meet Sebastian Gabriel of Tampa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sebastian Gabriel.

Hi Sebastian, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started playing when I was young, and over time, music became a really important part of my life. At first, I just wanted to become a better musician and perform whenever I had the chance.

As I started getting more opportunities to play at weddings, private events, and corporate events, I realized I could turn my passion into a career. I started learning not only about music, but also about running a business, working with clients, marketing myself, and building my own brand.

Social media also played a big role in my journey. I started sharing my performances online, and that helped me reach people outside of my local area and opened the door to new opportunities.

Today, I’m lucky enough to perform at events across the country, work with other musicians, and run my own live entertainment business. What started as simply playing the violin has turned into a career that allows me to combine music, business, creativity, and travel.

I think the biggest part of my story is that I never had everything planned out. I just kept taking opportunities, learning along the way, and trying to get better. Little by little, those steps brought me to where I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Coming from a different country, I had to learn a new language, adapt to a new culture, and figure out how to build a life and career from the ground up. I also had to learn how to turn my passion for music into a business, from finding clients and marketing myself to managing all the challenges that come with being an artist.

There were definitely moments when I questioned myself, but those experiences taught me to stay consistent, keep learning, and not give up.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I love most about what I do is playing music that connects with people. I don’t just want to play a song, I want people to feel something when they hear it.

I especially love playing Latin music because it allows me to bring my culture and personality into my performances. I also love taking popular songs from different genres and putting my own spin on them with the violin.

I’m most proud of being able to turn something I love into a career and reach people through my music. I think what sets me apart is the connection I try to create with the audience. Whether it’s a romantic wedding song, a Latin hit, or a song everyone knows, I want people to have fun, feel something, and remember the experience.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think the industry is going to continue moving toward more personalized and unique live experiences. People don’t just want to hear music anymore, they want an experience they can remember and share.

I also think musicians will continue becoming more than just performers. Social media has already changed the industry a lot, and I think musicians will increasingly have to be artists, creators, and entrepreneurs at the same time.

For me, I see a lot of opportunity in live music, especially when it comes to bringing different cultures and genres together. I think Latin music, in particular, will continue growing and reaching even more people around the world.

Overall, I’m excited about where the industry is going. There are more ways than ever for independent musicians to build an audience, create their own opportunities, and connect directly with people.
