Rising Stars: Meet MATTE of Seminole

Today we’d like to introduce you to MATTE .

MATTE

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Matthew “MATTE” Tyciak, 32, was born in Camden County NJ, raised in south St Petersburg FL. MATTE has a unique style of music ranging from trap / hip-hop to pop. MATTE is not just a rapper he is a singer/songwriter for multiple artist. MATTE is in the working of an EP produced by NicTunez and his debut album. “Even on those better days, we find better ways to better ourselves.” MATTE

MATTE found his passion for music through the works of poetry, starting his writing at 10 that is all he has done since. Some of his idols in music are Gucci Mane, Big L, and Lil Wayne. He started recording music with the his childhood friend Nic “NicTunez” Dicataldo in the back house of his parents house in 2009. In the early stages of MATTE’s career James “JT Hitz” brought him to his first industry quality studio at which point he fell in love with recording music.

Latest tracks that have dropped are “ochcocino (freestyle)”, ice & spice, and hit single “Go” ! With “all on me” EP dropping on 18, September 2024 fully produced by NicTunez, and MATTE’s first debut album on the way I would say we are in for a jam packed year of music and content!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I had a 2 kids and joined the Army by 20 so music hasn’t always been my focus. I didn’t find myself actually pursing a music career until about 2022. I always dreamed of it but my music wasn’t up to par and I wasn’t ready. Money has always been an obstacling seeing you gotta put family first make sure the kids are fed.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known as a rapper but I do it all sing, record, write, produce. I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve been keeping my head up and pushing through, because I can see my dreams coming true before my eyes. I’m just glad I held myself to a certain standard and always treated other people right.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was a sports head as a kid, I was always in the neighborhood playing football or basketball. My parents always took me to concerts and cool trips so I got to experience a lot of stuff growing up. I was also very outgoing still am to this day.
