Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Jones.
Hi Jessica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey as an entrepreneur most notably known for my role as lead photographer and owner of Jessica Anne Boudoir. I first started photography in 2010 but did not begin having an interest in providing photography as a service until 2017. It wasn’t until 2020 that I decided to sharpen my focus and embark on actually making a sustainable income and turn my daydream into a functional business. I began investing in education and most importantly, mentorship, this gave me the foundation to not only sell photography services sometimes, but full time. A couple years into networking in the photography industry I naturally blossomed into the interest and possibilities of entrepreneurship. I no longer have aspirations of just scaling my boudoir photography studio but also owning other businesses as well. What I love most about entrepreneurship is how relative it is to your own personal development, you are not just nurturing a business or team, you are nurturing yourself in the process. In order to grow and achieve your goals, your motivation has to be intrinsic, you also have to be accountable and continuously self-reflect. A younger me would’ve felt accomplished by the things I could buy myself as a reward for working hard, but now I work towards ways I can lead others and give back – the feeling of true leadership is unparalleled. The highlight of my personal story and true inspiration behind all that I do is being a proud mother to a son, this article will shed pride and glory to the things I have accomplished and aspire to achieve; but truthfully I work hard every day to make it happen and nothing makes me feel more grounded and focused than knowing the best accomplishment I will ever have is raising him.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has absolutely not been a smooth road; I tell people that I have taken the stairs and not the elevator. I also am thankful for every challenge that I have had, I certainly would not have the mindset that I have today if anything would have been easier. I believe challenges either make people bitter or better and I always choose to be better. If your pain serves you well, it will humble you and inspire you. I used to feel uncomfortable sharing about my hardships, but now I am proud, I learned that through vulnerability you can truly lead and connect with others. With that said, I am a no excuses type person, there is a version of you that can achieve your future goals and it’s up to you to evolve into that person. There is someone, somewhere, living your dreams, it might as well be you, too.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Jessica Anne is the founder of Jessica Anne Boudoir; we are an experience-based photography brand that creates stunning elevated albums and empowering client experiences. With a strong foundation in the wedding industry, I discovered my passion for boudoir photography and its ability to transform how women see themselves. I continuously travel to national conferences where I have had the opportunity to be mentored by some of the world’s boudoir photography experts while also developing my own expertise, this has allowed me to not only serve brides but all women seeking to embrace their confidence and beauty. My work is rooted in a passion for helping women feel seen, celebrated and strong.
How do you think about luck?
I do not usually use the word “luck” some people have leverage, and some people have faith, some have both. As said before, I tell people I have taken the stairs and not the elevator, but that in its own has had its blessings.
