Rising Stars: Meet DeNami of Tampa

Today we’d like to introduce you to DeNami.

Hi DeNami, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m DeNami, a 23-year-old artist from Tampa, FL, with Cuban and Puerto Rican roots. I’ve been singing since I was a baby music’s always been the one thing that brings me peace and joy. My mom’s a singer, and my grandma used to blast bachata every morning on the way to school, so it’s always been in my blood. I dropped my first song, “3,” at 14 and it hit 20K plays on SoundCloud. By 19, I found my lane in R&B where I could really let my emotions pour out and tell my story.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Never a smooth road changing Artist views changing how I sound rebranding trying to be things that I’m not until I finally just accepted that I’m not gonna be like the people who are already famous i am me and that’s what people need to know and love

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well outside of music I work in the HVAC field
But nobody knows me for that I say people know my for my Song called I know
What I’m most proud of is finally getting my first project finished dropping soon. What sets me
Apart from the others is I personally think nobody can go head to head with me in the city singing or rapping the way I’m able to bounce in between genres and not lose my pivot is what separates me from the rest of the city

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I say the only risk I took was working out of state pouring my last few dollars in videos and studio time when I didn’t have it but that’s for the love of the game
