Rising Stars: Meet Davin Kaufman of Tampa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Davin Kaufman.

Davin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started cosmetology school in 2017 and earned my cosmetology license in Pennsylvania in 2020, where I began building my career behind the chair and growing my clientele. Two years later, I took a leap of faith and moved to Tampa, Florida, where I had to rebuild my clientele from scratch. I landed a position at New Identities Tampa, where I’ve been able to focus on my passion for hair extensions, bright blondes, and vivid colors.

While working behind the chair, I decided to take another entrepreneurial leap and launch my own pop-up permanent jewelry business. I’ve been hitting the ground running, bringing permanent jewelry experiences to local markets and private events, including birthdays, bachelorette parties, weddings, and more. I love being able to combine my creativity, beauty background, and entrepreneurial spirit into two businesses that allow me to make people feel confident and celebrate special moments.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was leaving behind the solid clientele I had built in Pennsylvania and moving to Tampa to finish my degree. Starting over in a new city meant rebuilding my clientele from scratch while continuing my education and growing professionally. It was challenging to balance everything, but the experience pushed me to step outside my comfort zone, stay consistent, and work hard to create new opportunities for myself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in hair extensions, bright blondes, and vivid colors, with a focus on creating personalized looks that help my clients feel confident and express their individuality.

I’m most proud of taking the leap to move from Pennsylvania to Tampa, leaving behind the clientele I had built and starting over in a new city while continuing my education and growing professionally. That experience taught me resilience, consistency, and the importance of stepping outside my comfort zone.

What sets me apart is my willingness to take risks, my dedication to my clients, and my ability to combine creativity with entrepreneurship. Whether I’m behind the chair or creating a permanent jewelry experience, I strive to make every client feel confident, celebrated, and genuinely cared for.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I heavily rely on my calendar to keep my schedule organized and make sure I’m balancing my clients, events, and personal life. I also use social media every day as a major tool for growing my businesses, connecting with clients, showcasing my work, and reaching new people. Both have become essential to staying organized, consistent, and focused on my goals.
