Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The Rustic Lover’s Muse started out as a small hobby right out of my own kitchen. After learning about how toxic big chain candles and home fragrance products can be to our health and to our environment I decided to do some research and I learned how to make candles that were clean, non-toxic, and eco-friendly to use in my own home. My family and friends were so impressed that they started begging me to create some for them as well.
Learning and experimenting with different fragrances and creating something that was enjoyed by many became one of my favorite things to do. Growing up, I have always been captivated by entrepreneurship and took this as an opportunity to try and build a business out of something I truly love and have a passion for; thus The Rustic Lover’s Muse was born. In less then six months I went from selling my products to close friends and family to shipping all over the US. The Rustic Lover’s Muse is still fairly new but I am so proud of how fast it is growing and I look forward to seeing what the future may hold.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building a brand has not been easy; there have been times where I felt like I just wanted to give up. I felt like all the hard work I was putting into the business wasn’t even worth it. But then you have those moments that just change everything. Patience and pushing through the rough days are definitely worth it in the end. I am sure I will have some more difficult times along the way, but I believe that those will bring me even better days in the future. I have an amazing support system; my friends and family have truly helped through this process.

The Rustic Lover’s Muse is a home fragrance company based in Palm Harbor, FL. All of our products are hand-poured using the finest ingredients to ensure safe, clean, and environmentally friendly products. Our scents are inspired by our love for nature & travel. We believe that our minds can wander with every scent, taking us back to our favorite locations and memories. We take much pride in our craftsmanship, attention to detail, ethical production, and accessible prices.
Made from all-natural 100% soy wax and clean sustainable fragrances. Our wax products are free from carcinogens, reproductive toxins, and other potentially hazardous chemicals often found in fragrances.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
As an entrepreneur, you are always taking some kind of risk, whether it’s financial, competitive, or even with certain types of products or services that you may be selling. Nothing is ever certain. This is where research becomes your best friend. Taking the time to research your industry and your competitors will help minimize some of that risk. As a candle maker, I take a big risk when I launch a new product or fragrance. Not everyone will like the same scents that I do so I always have to make sure I have different fragrances to choose from. This can become a big financial risk as well. Being a new business, the risks will always be there. But I believe that it is how you handle the outcome that will dictate how you move forward in your business.
