Pat Largo of Pasco County, FL. on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Pat Largo. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Pat , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What battle are you avoiding?
Good question. I am trying to avoid the battle of wasting the rest of my life. Once I turned fifty, I didn’t wanna regret losing time. I still procrastinate and daydream, however I’m getting better at making second, minutes and hours count.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi ya! My name is Pat Largo. I’m in the entertainment field. Stand up comedy to be exact. I created my own event, Comedians Uncorked, in the spring of 2018. I book really funny people at venues around the Tampa Bay area and central Florida. Comedy can be a serious business.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents taught me the value of work and that things simple need to be done and not ignored. My dad was a World War II vet and a New York City police officer and detective. My mom was a stay at home mom, then got a gig when my dad retired. I think that’s why they lasted so long. They were always away from each other just long enough. LOL! Watching them go to work, no matter what, is what made me wanna avoid a real job as much as possible. That is why I was in radio for many years, then stand up comedy.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yep. Everyday, for most of my life. I’m always battling the inner voice that tries to get me to quit. Tries to bring me down, feeling like I’m not good enough, so why even try? Sometimes it’s like that even on the day of a show. A voice or feeling telling me I’m not good, and should just stay in bed. I’m still fighting it. I feel with each day, each new show, each victory, it quiets that negativity a little more. DO NOT listen to that voice!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Jesus Christ.
