Meet Stephanie Germino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Germino.

Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
*Queue The Fresh Prince Theme Song* lol

Well, I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida in July of 1993.I am a Peruvian and Filipino woman who has the honor of being a mother to a beautiful four year old boy named Josiah and a fiancée to an amazing woman named Diana.

My Lash journey started out as a “hobby” when I was a stay at home mom back in 2018. At the time, I had no idea just how much my life was going to change. I became a single mother who was also dealing with some real-life shit, didn’t have a “real job” and no money in the bank. I ended up getting a job in a salon here in Tampa for about a year+ during which I advanced my lashing techniques and built an amazing clientele list but unfortunately in January 2020 I was fired and from those ashes, Blxckout Beauty was born.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not lol, I mean where to start? I was fired with no idea what I was going to do, decided to continue lashing and then a month later, the Quarantine hit…YIKES!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I had no plans of running my own business but here we are….life has a funny way of taking some of your worst moments and turning them into some of your biggest blessings.

Right now I am focusing on growing my salon and team to become one of the biggest names in the beauty industry.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Always be open for feedback, take the risks you’re afraid to take and ask for help! There is no point in struggling if someone has the answers you need but you’re not vulnerable enough to ask.

You have to put yourself out there!

Join FB groups regarding your craft/trade, Engage with followers on IG, Jump on Clubhouse and join rooms with topics that speak on things you need help with or even that you know and you can educate others on.

In this life, you get what you give, same goes for being a Solopreneur.

You can only get out of it what you’re willing to put into it.

No one will do the work for you, you have to want to succeed more than anything.
