Hi Shalontay, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My passion for nails started from a young age for as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed. Nail art became my safe space, my creative outlet, and eventually, my confidence. As a kid, I was shy and reserved, but through nail art I found a way to express myself to be bold, vibrant, and loud without saying a word. Each set became my voice, my mood and my message.
Through the years, the love only grew stronger. What started as a hobby turned into a calling. I enrolled in beauty school in the beginning of 2025 to turn my passion into purpose, bet on myself and gain the confidence to bring my vision to life.
That vision became Sunmuse Beauty, a brand born from confidence, sunlight and self expression. Through nails, I found my confidence. And through Sunmuse beauty, I’m sharing that glow with others one muse at a time
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all but I’m grateful. It’s been a journey of growth, patience and self-discovery. When you’re chasing a dream, it’s easy to feel like you should have everything figured out right away, but I’ve learned that every challenge teaches you something valuable. There were moments of doubt, times I questioned if I was good enough, or if things were moving to slowly. But every setback pushed me to keep going, to keep learning and believe in myself a little more.
Through it all my love for nails has always kept me grounded. The more I create, the more I reminded why I started. Every design, every client, every small win reminds me that the journey doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Full Specialist who focuses on creating nail sets that feel just as good as they look. I specialize in Gel-X and Polygel enhancements, custom nail art, overlays and clean natural finishes. I am most proud of my growth not just skill, but in spirit. I’ve learned to believe in myself, to stay patient and to keep creating even when no one was watching. I’m proud that SunMuse Beauty is more than a name, it’s a reflection of my journey and the light I hope to share with others.
What sets me apart from others is how personal my work is. Every set I create has a little piece of me in it, the time, the detail, the energy. I don’t rush my art because I feel beauty should feel intentional.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people don’t realize how introverted I really am. I’m social when I need to be, but I recharge through quiet moments, sketching designs, organizing my nail supplies or just listening to music while I plan new ideas for Sunmuse Beauty. People see the creativity and confidence but what they don’t always see it the quiet, reflective side that fuels it.
