Meet Robert Hill of Tampa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Hill.

Hi Robert , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my music career in a small apartment in Leadville, Colorado. I was hanging out with a buddy who wanted me to help make Wu Tang Clan type music with him and maybe rap over a few songs. That night I realized music was what I wanted to do and started pushing myself to make more music. Originally it was a beat or two that I would make but then I slowly started to put my voice on a few tracks. Now I still mostly work on beats and instrumental music but I do on occasion lend my voice in a song and as of recent I am also branching out into painting. I put a lot of the feelings I get from my music into the art as well which has helped progress my styles musically and artistically in my physical works.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The path to where I am today was not always the easiest but I have learned to work with the struggles. At the beginning it was mostly monetary issues when it came to studio rentals and how to get advertised but then it was more of an internal struggle. Many times I felt alone and stuck in my own head trying to find any inspiration or even the energy to work on a project just from my own internal frustrations with life. Now I have learned over the years that I can work with the struggles instead of against them. If I have an “off” feeling day I now use that feeling and that energy to push myself into creating and letting the feelings out, rather than bottled. This has gotten me to create new works I never would have thought to make before and progress as an artist.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At the core of what I do, I am an artist and creative. I first was known for my music only and now I more and more am known for my paintings as well. Musically I specialize in making beats especially electronic music. I have always been a fan of “rave” music and when I got the chance to start making it I immediately jumped at the chance. It makes me happy and I like to give others that same feeling of joy. My paintings are evolving everyday the more I push myself. I started with paintings of space that I made with spray paint and now use multiple mediums. Acrylic works along with spray paint are some of my favorite to do and most people who see them seem to enjoy the designs as well.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The best way to support the arts and whole creative process is through Instagram @stonedpandabeatz and @designsbypanda94 with a direct message. For collabs and business inquiries, emails to rawthenticgdp@gmail.com are the best ways for me to get back to everyone in a sufficient time.
