Hi My, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We are more of a concept that started while volunteering throughout Hernando County. We noticed a large number of talented people that were willing to share their talents, time and abilities.
But, after buying their materials and making the product, many went the extra steps of buying tables, tents, booth equipment, vendor fees and then have to learn the ins and outs of online marketing, which, of course, costs more money.
MyHernando.com was a way to help promote the bakers, makers and artisan in Hernando County, Florida, as well as, the local events and businesses that support them. Community helping community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Almost too smooth! We aren’t sure of how to handle this much positive attention and imposter syndrome has set in. We just happen to enjoy seeing others innovations and creativity.
But it is a very simple formula. We offer free promotions to those that are willing to put themselves and their work on display.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The best way to describe is as a online community cheerleader! We enjoy seeing community collaborations and shared local experiences.
We have always enjoyed going to local vendor events and fairs but Hernando County has a lot of unique finds. The more we discover, the more we celebrate them.
How do you think about luck?
We’re not sure if luck had any part of it. It just faith and working for the sake of others.
We believe that if “evil begets evil” then the opposite must be true, kindness brings about more kindness.
We have found many people willing to share their family recipes, creations and talents. We believe that is worth more online presence.
