Mia, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
I am a woman of faith and a strong believer of God and his Grace. At the young age of 11 I was injured in a domestic violence dispute which resulted in the loss of my left eye. That changed my life, and the trajectory of my childhood , since then I have faced many hardships and challenges all of which led me to the realization that I needed to heal.
I began my journey of healing by turning to my faith and seeking guidance from God. Through prayer and reflection, I found the strength and courage to overcome the challenges that I faced. I also realized that I had a calling to help others who were going through similar struggles.
I pursued my education and obtained a degree in counseling, with a focus on trauma and abuse. I wanted to use my personal experience and professional training to make a difference in the lives of others.
Over the years, I have worked with many individuals and families who have experienced trauma and abuse. I have seen firsthand the devastating effects that these experiences can have on a person’s life. But I have also seen the incredible resilience and strength that people possess, and the power of healing and transformation.
Today, I am committed to helping others heal and find hope in their lives. I am a counselor, speaker, and advocate for those who have experienced trauma and abuse. I believe that everyone has the potential to overcome their challenges and live a fulfilling life, and I am honored to be a part of that journey.

“Meaningful Impact Association,” is a youth and young adult organization that aims to provide support and healing to victims of childhood trauma aged 11-19. Our mission is to create a safe and nurturing environment where young people can heal from their past traumas and develop the skills and resilience needed to thrive in their future. What sets Meaningful Impact Association apart from other organizations is our focus on helping victims of childhood trauma overcome the effects of abuse and neglect. We understand that childhood trauma can have a lasting impact on a person’s life, and we are committed to providing the support and resources needed to help individuals heal and move forward. Our organization offers a range of services, including counseling, support groups, educational programs, and other resources that are tailored to the unique needs of each individual. We take a holistic approach to healing, addressing not only the emotional and psychological effects of trauma, but also the physical and spiritual aspects of a person’s life. I had the pleasure of meeting Teresa recently, and from the moment we met, I knew that we were kindred spirits. Her love for the community and youth is truly inspiring, and it was her passion for making a difference that brought us together.
