Today we’d like to introduce you to Kingsley James
Hi kingsley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
From an early age, I have been photographing just about everything I encountered. My love of photography started during my juvenile years, during my adventures living in Jamaica. Hiking in the mountains and swimming on the beautiful beaches. I found joy in capturing everything in its purest form. The raw emotions of birds dancing in the rain, the details of a hummingbird. I later traveled to England, this experience pushed my creativity to photograph a different culture and architecture.
Upon moving to the United States to start college, I found a major that I wanted to pursue but still focused on photography as a minor. The courses I took in college advanced my knowledge of digital and film photography. Soon I started doing portrait photography sessions & weddings for friends and families in the Tampa Bay Area.
My love for photography matured with my love for travelling. I found myself visiting all types of destinations. There were many elopements or wedding ceremonies during my travels. I visited Greece, Italy, Paris, New York, and was exposed to many great destination wedding venues. Couples were always asking me to take images for them. Why? Because I always had my camera with me. It made sense, it all felt right! Just like that, Kingsley James Studios was created to travel where ever love exists.
I would never have been here without those early experiences, my family, and friends.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey as a full-time wedding photographer has not been a smooth road. I rebranded earlier this year in 2024 in efforts to refine a seamless wedding experience, expanding my markets to Iceland, Dubai, Africa, Italy, Paris, and the entire United States. This process has proven itself to be challenging yet rewarding. A part of my rebranding process was to showcase my availability to do destination weddings all around the world and offer customizable packages to every newly engaged couple. Every love story is unique. I wanted to get away from the one size fits all style of wedding packages. Giving every couple what they deserve, a once in a lifetime wedding experience.

My pride is providing very valuable wedding offerings, a natural editing style, and letting you know that you are valued. I only accept a limited number of weddings each year to make sure that we are giving you the experience that you deserve, concierge service from start to finish. Here, we cherish all types of love and are a fully inclusive photography & videography studio. Whose sole purpose is to celebrate the remarkable beauty that your love brings to the world.
There are plenty of features that separate my Wedding Team from others. First remembering every day to strive to be better than I was the day before, never competing with others but only myself. I take the time to understand every detail of the wedding day, create a personalized experience with your planner or wedding designer, provide valuable offerings, and over deliver on customer service. Since my rebranding launch 6 months ago, I have been published in local and international bridal magazines 3 times. These recognitions have brought me across the county.
How do you think about happiness?
My happiness comes from immersing myself in different cultures, diversifying myself, and continued growth. Being a destination wedding photographer has given me more opportunity to travel and to continue to meet people from all over the world.
Therefore, capturing my couples in their purest form, raw, authentic and candid, fulfills my heart knowing that I provided value at the beginning of their new chapter. I have a quote in my office that says, “do not confuse movement with progress” this quote greets me every morning. I strive to make meaningful connections with clients and wedding vendors. Throughout the years, I have remained humbled and learned from every lesson. I value growth professionally and personally. I live in a location that is a hub for hosting destination elopements and weddings, so I am always working. For that, I am forever grateful.
