Meet Jonathan Justiniano of Fellow Barber Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Justiniano.

Hi Jonathan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been a barber for 18 years, and like many barbers, my journey began by cutting the hair of friends and family. At 21, I opened my first brick-and-mortar barbershop in Massachusetts—a shop I successfully grew and eventually sold in 2022. It’s still thriving today.

After relocating to Florida, I returned to barbershop ownership because I genuinely love people, the craft, and the process of developing barbers. A barbershop is a pillar of the community, and a barber knows someone in every line of work.
My purpose is to serve—both my team and my clients. My chair isn’t just where haircuts happen; it’s where conversations, connection, and community happen. It’s my ministry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It never is—and it never should be. The ups and downs of life are what mold you into who you are. There’s no smooth sailing in anything. Persevere, and learn to fail: fail fast, and fail forward.

Some of my biggest challenges have always revolved around trying to replicate myself—making sure customer service and client care stay top-notch. It’s hard to find good, reliable team members, but the truth is people want a place to work where they are seen, appreciated, and valued.

You will never duplicate yourself, but once you get over yourself and realize someone else can often do it even better, you learn that you don’t need another “you”—you need the best version of them.
Leadership over yourself is the greatest challenge, but it’s also one of the most beautiful to face.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Fellow Barber Co was founded on the belief that we all need Fellowship—genuine connections and shared experiences that make life richer. A barbershop is a great place for just that—a space where conversations flow, stories are shared, and people from all walks of life can come together.

We’re more than just a place to get a haircut. We’re the middleman for connections, a sounding board for those who need to share, a pillar in the community, and—let’s be honest—the most affordable therapist around. In a world that’s more “connected” yet more disconnected than ever, the need for real, face-to-face fellowship has never been greater.

At Fellow, we believe building a business isn’t just about dollars and cents—it’s about building people. Our culture is designed to foster both the personal and professional growth of our barbers, knowing that when they thrive, you—our valued client—will feel the impact. By prioritizing our team’s growth, strengthening our culture, and standing firm in our values, we ensure that your experience is second to none.

Step into a barbershop that puts Service first. Because when we take care of people, everything else falls into place.

How do you think about luck?
“Funny thing about luck, the harder I work the luckier I get.” I don’t believe in luck, just blessings and favor for being someone that gives more than they take.
