Hi Jessica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After taking the traditional route, Jessica Rios, founder and owner of All Brides 2 Be & now a second location Arden Bridal & Boutique Tampa, went to college, graduated with a degree in Bio-Medical Science and took a “safe” job working as a Territory Manager with a pathology lab. After enduring a second layoff within two years, Jessica had enough. She was tired of leaving her fate in the hands of others. With lots of encouragement from her husband with a huge determination, perseverance and hard work ethic, Jessica took the leap of faith. She started a business centered around a life-long passion of hers… Fashion. And much more than Fashion, Jessica has deep compassion for others and helping them find the perfect attire for each of their special occasions. Coming from a world of primarily cancer research has opened Jessica’s eyes and has given her so much gratitude for all of life’s special events. The business will be celebrating its ten year Anniversary in early 2021. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, but I always say anything that you truly desire deep down in your heart will be ever so challenging and rewarding. In the beginning, when no one knows who you are, days can pass without anyone entering your doors and that can be a let down when you have put so much effort and money into the opening. And then you have to continually prove yourself to everyone that does come in since you are new and they may not have confidence in you. Really it takes a while even to have confidence in yourself as a business owner. There is a lot of pressure from clients, but we put a ton of pressure on ourselves too. Staying positive and having a great attitude even in hard times has been a big factor in what has kept me going.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
When we were forced to close our shop in March of 2020 we had just finished a record in January and February in our business. This allowed the business to sustain throughout the many weeks until we could open back up in May 2020. I was also very proud that I run my business on if it is not in the bank account; it is not getting purchased method. We owe no one and we prefer it that way.
