Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Aguilar.
Jeremiah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started as a fan of Theme Park vloggers, watching their videos of them having fun at the parks with their friends and filming everything.
After a while, I decided to get a camera of my own and start my own YouTube channel doing the same, filming my adventure with my friends.
After a while, however, I quickly realized I enjoyed the creative aspect of filming videos and photography more than vlogging, I enjoyed showcasing events, people, characters, and atmosphere at parks and places around the world and showing how incredible these places and people can be through videography and photography.
Now, I vlog fairly little and have stuck to videography and photography more as it gives me a bigger creative satisfaction.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say a smooth road, maybe a few bumps here and there but no potholes haha, I think my biggest struggle was identity. When I first started, I mainly focused on showcasing haunted attractions and horror-themed events but I have more interests than just that when it comes to photography.
Unmanaged Media wasn’t the original name of my photography page, when I decided to do a small rebrand I changed the name from Misfits Unmanaged to Unmanaged Media, something a bit more professional and less limiting and still familiar to the people who follow me. Now that I know what I want to do with the page it’s all smooth sailing from here.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer and videographer, I mainly focus on showcasing events and doing themed shoots. Currently, I think I’m most known for my photography during the haunt season taking photos of scare actors at haunt events, mostly Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa.
One of the things I’m most proud of would be the amount of work and learning I’ve put into some of my videography in the last year, I’ve spent lots of hours practicing and learning new things to add to some of the projects I’m working on in the next few months.
I think I’m still figuring out what sets me apart from others to be honest, I’m very self-critical of my work so it’s hard to feel as if I stand out really.
What does success mean to you?
For me, it’s when I feel satisfied with the outcome of my work, and when I see that others enjoy what I produce.
If I can post something and be 100% satisfied with it I see that as success, or when I post something and it gets a good reception from people I see that as success. For me, success doesn’t need to be tons of followers, money, or fame just that I’m happy with it and others enjoy it too.
