Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Vargas.
Hi Cristina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the photobooth world started pretty unexpectedly. One day, I was casually browsing the internet and came across a video of a photobooth operator sharing how he got started in the industry. That video immediately piqued my interest, and before I knew it, I was going down a rabbit hole researching everything I could about the photobooth business. How to start one, what types of booths were popular, and what others were offering in my area.
At the time, I knew absolutely nothing about photobooths, but the more I learned, the more I felt drawn to it. I bought an eBook, started making lists of what I needed to buy and do, and began piecing together a plan. My very first booth was a 360 video booth, and my first event was for a friend’s daughter’s Sweet 16. That event ended up being the spark that ignited everything. I was able to capture content for my website and social media, and without even realizing it, that one celebration helped launch my business off the ground.
Since then, I’ve grown from that one booth to now offering four unique photobooth experiences: the 360 Video Booth, a Digital Selfie Booth, a Roaming Booth, and a Glam Portrait Station. What started as a curiosity has turned into a full-blown business I’m incredibly proud of.
Every single event I work inspires me to keep improving and enhancing the guest experience. I genuinely love being a part of such special moments.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely been a journey with its fair share of challenges. One of the biggest struggles for me has been imposter syndrome. There were many moments where I questioned whether I was good enough to be in the room, to take up space in this industry, or to present myself as a business owner. I’ve dealt with a lot of self doubt and found myself comparing my business to other amazing, more established photobooth companies.
Another big challenge was the learning curve. There really isn’t a traditional class you can walk into that says, “Here’s how to become a photobooth operator.” A lot of what I’ve learned has come from experience, trial and error, and spending hours researching on YouTube or learning from others in photobooth communities on social media. It was definitely overwhelming at times, especially in the beginning when everything felt brand new and unfamiliar.
But even through those struggles, I kept pushing. Each event and experience helped me build more confidence, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I own a photobooth rental company that specializes in creating fun, interactive experiences for all kinds of events.I currently offer four unique booth options: the 360 Video Booth, a Digital Selfie Booth, a Roaming Booth, and a Glam Portrait Station.
What sets my business apart is the personal touch and attention to detail that I put into each event. One of the great things about working with a small business like mine is that every inquiry, message, and planning detail goes directly through me. I handle all communication personally, and I’m involved in every step of the process. I truly care about creating an experience that feels special.
I’m most proud of how this business has grown from a simple idea into something that brings joy to so many people. Connecting with clients, vendors, and fellow business owners has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that might surprise people is that even though I’m in an industry that’s all about interaction, energy, and being around people. I’m actually a total introvert at heart. I genuinely love connecting with guests and bringing excitement to events, but when it’s all said and done, there’s nothing I enjoy more than a quiet night in, watching crime documentaries and eating my favorite snacks.
