Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Minerva
Hi Carrie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am so excited to share my story with you – things started in a kitchen and evolved into becoming a genuine joy catcher! I started my photography adventure by writing recipes and taking photographs of my latest kitchen concoctions with my new fancy camera for a food blog, When Carrot Met Salad (a nod to When Harry Met Sally). However, through that experience I learned pretty quickly that I am a PEOPLE person. While I still thoroughly enjoy cooking, hours in the kitchen and on my computer alone could only give me so much fulfillment. So, I started photographing close friends in my hometown, Ocala. An opportunity to photograph my best friend’s nephew just days after he was born was gifted to me, and I was done for! Huge hearts, tiny toes, nervous-but-excited mom and dad… This was what I wanted to be photographing and exactly what my soul needed! I still get just as excited before every session!
Photography was a gift to me in a time when I started believing my only way to love on a newborn was through photographing them. Thankfully, through lots of prayer, tested faith, and abundance of support, and a little bit of science God blessed us with our two miracle girls.
After the birth of our first daughter, I quickly realized the importance of freezing time and capturing sweet, genuine moments of our family. Like many other new moms I also learned the value of getting those memories off my phone, onto our walls, and into books! Since starting in 2017, I have photographed families from the very beginning – she said yes! – to multiple generations gathered together and every celebration in between. When I share a new gallery my heart smiles and I am overjoyed to have caught you in the act of being authentically you.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The established foundation for my identity as a person, I believe, is what really set me up to build a tenacious and yet flexible business. My belief in Jesus hands down is why I have this business to begin with, after all it doesn’t really belong to me. My professional career as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner has helped me navigate relationships with clients, offer peace to new worried parents, and maintain healthy communication with both client and collaborating vendors. Technology is ever changing for which I am so grateful while also challenged to adapt to!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am here to serve you through photography by celebrating each major milestone with you and your family. I am a believer, Tampa mom, excessive user of exclamation points and your genuine joy catcher!
I want to memorialize the season that you are in; be with you wherever your feet are. Whether you just added a new puppy to the mix or are bringing your last baby to meet your grandparents – I aim to serve the Tampa community by creating beautiful and honest images that allow those memories to last a lifetime
You are beautifully and uniquely made! God lovingly gave me the gift and passion of photography to catch that beauty and show you just how much you and your family shine. Every season deserves to be celebrated! Portraits are a worthy investment that will only grow in value over time!
My goal is to at you enjoy your photography session fully! Our hope is for you to arrive feeling confident and to leave with cheeks aching from laughter! I want you to be ecstatic to receive your gallery!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I am so fortunate that the female photography community in Tampa is so supportive and welcoming. Just this year I have joined two other photographers in a gorgeous naturally lit studio space in Ybor City. I am so excited to collaborate with them and hold each other up, women supporting women. started connecting with others through social media then showed up for in person socials and have some really close friends in the business.
