Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Cave.
Hi Aaron, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Wild Florida was my humble blue-collar beginnings. I’ve always been fascinated with where I came from and live. Some of these wild places do not exist anymore, except in my memories. The col0rs, textures, and spaces in the swamps of Central Florida have shaped my brand and the way I approach my work. Exploration of the world around me through varying perspectives and methods of motion bring light to the familiar. My fascination of scale, space, and tools began in the construction job sites I frequented in my childhood. The balance of all of my curiosities is the basis of my work and livelihood, even transcending into my paintings and sculptures. The discipline I received in school from my art teachers became my psalms, furthering my momentum into the visual art industry. I found myself enamored with large format printing and CNC machining. To use layman’s terms, specialized tools to make industry look pretty or handsome in their own respects. These tools have not only sustained my little family monetarily but allowed me to utilize my own aesthetic and understanding of visual stimulation to generate success for my spectrum of clients.
My company OD Visual is based on a common color within these Spanish Moss-laden swamps: Olive Drab, or military “O-D” green as it is commonly used. We celebrate subtlety and familiarity. And our tactful juxtaposition of the minimal makes for bold statements in a world of visual overstimulation. These wetlands bring us to center and provide the inspiration to challenge our clients to – Become visual.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Struggle is relative in my eyes. I am not special in regards to struggle. Many of my challenges, whether personal or professional can be perceived as molehills in the lens of others. But my failures and shortcomings have always provided the opportunity for education, self-reflection, and critique, ultimately exuding change. I feel life is marked by struggle, but we can seize those moments as refinement in our own forge, to make ourselves and the world around us better.
OD Visual was conceived at the worst time, yet at the perfect time, solidifying resilience in ourselves and our work.
As you know, we’re big fans of OD Visual. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

Our vision is to ease the burden of developing branding and marketing strategies in an ever-changing world for our clients of all sizes. Then manufacturing the means for which that branding/marketing is viewed in our physical world. OD Visual is looking to not only serve other businesses but also sustainably and ethically employ members of our community. We need to grow our community, just like our economy needs small businesses like ours to thrive; a society where more individuals the have opportunity to find success.
Become visual.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was playing in unknown areas to myself of nature within these swamps of Florida. I was always catching animals and studying how they were in their natural state. I never minded swimming in our blackwater rivers, streams, and lakes. I was fixated on the beauty and inherent danger our woods provided. I loved running through the live oak trees and saw palmetto, whether it was on foot or two wheels. The rumble and feel of my dirtbike tearing through unfamiliar property brought peace and exhilaration. I will forever ride and reside in my home because of that euphoria from my youth.
