Today we’d like to introduce you to Krunti Hester.
Hi Krunti, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Around 2009, I jumped into weddings as a wedding DJ, and I loved it. It was my dream to be married, and I loved music, so it only made sense for me to be a wedding DJ. After about three years of being a DJ, I kept running into this same videographer at my weddings. I looked at his work, and I was blown away by his work. Back then, he was just starting, but now he’s one of the top wedding videographers in the country. He nudged his work nudged me to try wedding videography. I had already played with video a little bit with my full-time job, and I knew weddings from being a DJ, so it only made sense for me to step out and give it a shot. I posted the ad on Craigslist around 2012 and got two weddings. These people, these beautiful couples, trusted me to shoot their weddings when I had no experience, and the rest is history. I’ve been shooting weddings ever since.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can’t say it’s been a smooth road. It’s been a fun one, and it’s been a great journey, but it has not been a smooth road. It has been a road where I’ve learned a lot.
From the time that I started to now, I struggled to find a voice, meaning that my weddings were a little bit all over the place in style from 2012 to around this year. I was trying different things, trying to feel where I wanted my creativity to sit, and I’m just now getting a hold of my brand and a workflow that works best for me. I would say brand and workflow have been my biggest challenge. Now that I’m honing in on those things, I can see who my ideal client is and then start to change my marketing so that I can just attract my ideal client.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a wedding videographer and corporate photographer and videographer. Right now I specialize in weddings. I’m known for candid, classic wedding films that are clean, polished, and elevated. I’m most proud of the journey that brought me here: the ups, the downs, the perseverance. From 2009 until February of 2026, I had always worked a full-time job while doing weddings on the side, and those times got really hard at times. Now I can see that the perseverance is paying off, so I’m most proud of that. The thing that sets me apart from others is my deep experience. Also, growing up in a single-parent home, I always wanted to be married and have children. I regarded marriage really, really highly from a young age, so it is a dream come true to be able to be a part of people’s wedding or marriage journey and document it in the most intimate way.
How do you think about luck?
I don’t really believe in luck. I believe in being in the right place at the right time, and usually persistence has brought you to those places. I think I can consider luck as networking. I happen to be a very good networker. I love to hear about other people’s businesses and passions in their work. I’ve been in a lot of rooms with a lot of amazing, talented people that I’ve connected with that have opened doors for me. For example, one time I did a wedding for a couple that was doing a wedding reception and ceremony for the first time. They were already married. They had been married at a courthouse, but the bride had cancer. Unfortunately, a few weeks after that wedding, the bride passed away. I failed to mention that I did this wedding for free. During that wedding, I met an incredibly talented photographer. This was about four years ago, and to this day we collaborate on weddings all throughout the year, and it’s brought my business thousands of dollars. If I hadn’t stepped out on faith, led by compassion, to help this couple during a time when they needed help the most, I would never have been connected to one of the best relationships that has helped my business year after year.
