Life & Work with Kirsten Ritenbaugh of Tampa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kirsten Ritenbaugh.

Hi Kirsten, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in a family of hairdressers, so the beauty world has always been part of my life. My mom started teaching me when I was little and over time the techniques she passed down became second nature.

What means the most to me is knowing my skills come from love, family, and generations of passion for this craft. I carry that with me every day and it shapes not just how I work, but how I care for people through what I do.

One of my proudest accomplishments is doing hair for New York Fashion Week, working backstage with iconic designers such as Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier, Alice + Olivia, Badgley Mischka, Carolina Herrera, and many others. Being part of that creative energy is something I’ll always crave. I’m also incredibly proud of being named “One to Watch” by Hair.com, which was a huge milestone in my career.

What sets me apart is that my work extends beyond the chair. In addition to hairstyling, I’m also in sales with äz Craft Luxury Haircare, helping open new doors and expand the brand across Florida. I love being involved in every facet of the beauty industry from artistry to brand development. It keeps me inspired and deeply connected to my craft.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My greatest challenge has always been eliminating the guilt associated with free time and rest. I think any entrepreneur would agree with this!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in blonding, balayage, and sun‑kissed, natural Florida beach blondes. My goal is always to create effortless, lived‑in color that feels organic and enhances each client’s natural beauty.

I’m also concierge traveling bridal hairstylist, serving brides across the country. One of my favorite memories was being the hairstylist for Hannah and Will Swinney’s wedding. Go Tigers!

I’ve loved working with athletes and their families, especially here in Tampa with the Bucs and Bolts. It’s the kind of full‑circle moment my inner teenage cheerleader dreamed about.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I’m not afraid to admit that I’ve spent 2026 working on myself mentally & physically. It really takes getting to know yourself deeply to truly be happy.
I’ve always had a fake it till you make it mentality but the reality is you can’t get ahead until you put in the work.
One thing I know for sure is that I am the happiest spending time in the sunshine with my Goldendoodle, Honey! She is my little beach babe.

In life you can’t control what happens to you, but you can choose your response. Choose happiness every time! Law of attraction is real.
