Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Alexandra Grob.
Dr. Alexandra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After practicing for years in a high-volume, insurance based practice, having minutes to spend with my patients and being burdened with paperwork, referrals and prior authorizations, I decided to step away from this model and start my own concierge-style direct care Dermatology practice. My goal was to focus more of my time on patient care and practice more personalized medicine.
My practice model allows me to spend more time with patients, and more thoroughly address their concerns and skin health a whole, while building a stronger physician-patient relationship and connecting with my patients. I am able to offer increased accessibility with telehealth visits, and even house calls. I am looking forward to improving the healthcare experience and am excited to serve my own community in south Tampa!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a mom of two young daughters, starting my own practice has been no easy task! In medical school, we unfortunately do not learn anything about how to start a practice or run a business, so there was a lot to figure out on my own. Fortunately I have had a very supportive husband and colleagues who have helped tremendously and given me advice along the way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a board certified dermatologist, specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. I enjoy seeing all ages, including pediatrics. I am proud to be able to offer patients a more personalized approach to their skin health, and the healthcare experience that I have been longing to provide.
My areas of interest include acne, acne scars, hair loss, early skin cancer detection and prevention, and overall skin rejuvenation. I look forward to serving the south Tampa community!
