Aaron, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Blood of Angels is a heavy metal force that has been redefining extreme music from their home base in Tampa, Florida. Fusing aggressive, angry, and darkly melodic elements with a passion for cathartic expression, the band channels negative emotions into powerful anthems that resonate deeply with metal enthusiasts. With influences spanning death metal, black metal, thrash, melodic death metal, and extreme metal, Blood of Angels creates a sound that is both raw and sophisticated.
At the heart of Blood of Angels is a group of talented musicians whose chemistry elevates every performance. Frontman Randy Reyes, handling vocals and acoustic guitar, delivers a powerful and emotive presence that anchors the band’s sound. Aaron Robinson’s dynamic guitar work provides intricate riffs and soaring solos that complement Reyes’s aggressive style. Jonathan Rushford, on drums and keyboards, weaves together complex rhythms and atmospheric layers, adding depth to the music. The band’s trophy case includes several prestigious awards such as the 2023 Hollywood Independent Music Award for “Best Rock/Metal Song” and the 2023 Accolades have been a significant part of Blood of Angels’ journey, affirming their position Akademia Award “Hall of Fame.” Earlier recognitions, including the 2021 Akademia Award “Rising Star Award,” the 2019 Akademia Award “Executive Director Award,” and multiple honors in 2017 and 2018 for categories such as “Best Heavy Metal EP,” “Best Heavy Metal Song,” and “Best Metal/Hardcore Song,” are a testament to their technical prowess and artistic vision. In 2025 Blood of Angels completed a headlining European tour performing in Poland, Hungary, Austria, Romania, and Bulgaria to sold out crowds.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t think any business, no matter the industry is a smooth road. We have had tours cancel on us. Delays in music release. Merchandise orders that are late, and we did not have time to wait for it before we went on tour. The best of all, booking agents who have stolen money from us, even with an airtight contract. There have been a few obstacles.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am Aaron Robinson. I am the guitarist for Tampa, FL based metal band Blood of Angels. We are known for our high energy metal music.
We are proud of our many accomplishments of as a band. Last September we did a headlining European tour. We toured in Poland, Hungary, Austria, Romania, and Bulgaria selling out nine of the ten shows. We are also the winners 2023 Hollywood Independent Music Award for “Best Rock/Metal Song.” The most important thing we are proud of is the wonderful friends we have made around the world who have been supportive of our music. They are the best.
One of the main thing that sets us apart from other bands is that our shows are not fake by performing with backing tracks. The music you hear at our shows is what we are playing live. Another thing that sets us apart within our genre is the diversity of metal styles we incorporate into our sound, as well as the intellectual subjects we tackle in our lyrics.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
In this business, you deal with rejection most of the time. Thankfully we have proven ourselves enough that we have gotten less rejection and more acceptance. Perseverance is a quality you need to develop in order to have a career in the arts.
