Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Aybar.
Hi Sarah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My first wedding was in 2003. It was my cousin’s wedding. She gave me complete creative liberty! It was great designing and creating her florals and decor details! After that I started working on weddings for family, friends and co-workers. Little by little, I learned more floral techniques and aspects of weddings. In 2007, when our youngest went to Kindergarten, I started working at Joann Fabrics in the floral department, where I learned names of hundreds of flowers and greenery as I stocked the displays. Shortly after starting at Joann’s, I started teaching floral classes. This too helped me learn more elements of floristry.
In 2016, I went to work at Cross Creek Ranch in Dover in their floral design department. It was an amazing opportunity where I fine-tuned and mastered more skills. In 2017, God opened the doors for me to open a storefront in Brandon. This was another milestone step towards my goal. Our business in Brandon grew organicly! We had three years of big success! In December 2019, we purchased a property in Ruskin to open up a venue. My dream!!! 2020 started off amazing! Countless brides wanted 2020 to be their year! And then COVID-19 hit! By June 2020, we had to make the difficult decision to close our storefront in Brandon and transition to a home based business. Fall came soon enough and weekly weddings were part of our business life again! Transforming barns, ballrooms and beachfront venues, to have brides’ step into their vision on their wedding day is where you will find us. Currently, we are in the process of developing our property in Ruskin to be opened for Wedding and Events at the end of this year. Our family and team are looking forward to working with couples to create dream weddings at our venue.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Initially the struggle was a financial one. Learning how to correctly price our services was difficult. As a business owner, you need to make money but as one who believes everyone should have their dream wedding, I was charging less and giving more. After months of doing this, I quickly realized if I continued to do this we would be out of business and my passion for working weddings would return to being a hobby. Another struggle was knowing when to let things go. I needed to delegate some responsibilities so that I wouldn’t drain myself. Although it is not easy, I have learned that balance.

Sarah Rose Events creates with excellence in all we do! We are known for wedding planning and our floral work. My passion is weddings! Last year, even with COVID-19, we worked with 50 brides to bring their vision to life! I am most proud of our team of 10! They too work with excellence and commitment. Every detail is examined closely and carried out as planned. Each couple is ensured personal attention as I believe there are no 2 couples alike. Each one is individual. Our communication and professional manner is top rated!
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Wow! That’s an easy question! As soon as I read this I smiled as I thought of the answer. My family! My family makes me happy. My husband and I have been married for 30 years. We have raised four children who love God, live productive lives and give to the community. We enjoy each other’s company while on vacation or while playing a board game at home. There is always laughter! What else can a mother ask for!?
