Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Zografia Mastrovasilis

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Zografia Mastrovasilis. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Zografia, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would absolutely hire myself as a wedding planner. I bring a balance of creativity, precision, and calm under pressure — the exact mix this role demands. I excel at taking a couple’s vision, whether it’s a fully curated Pinterest board or just a vague feeling, and translating it into a seamless, beautiful event. I’m highly detail-oriented, ensuring that every element — from the timing of the music to the placement of the last boutonniere — is perfect, while also keeping the bigger picture in mind.

I also thrive in managing vendors and logistics, anticipating issues before they happen, and having multiple contingency plans so the couple never feels the stress behind the scenes. My only challenge is that I care deeply about my clients’ happiness, which means I have to be intentional about balancing perfection with efficiency. But ultimately, that level of investment is part of why my clients feel so supported.

So yes — I’d hire me because I know I can create weddings that are not only flawlessly executed but truly memorable for the couple and their guests.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Zografia “Zoe” Mastrovasilis, and I grew up believing that dream events shouldn’t just live in our imagination — they should come to life.

With over five years of global experience planning events, and time spent as a planner at one of South Florida’s most prestigious country clubs, I mastered the art of blending elegance, precision, and a touch of magic.

In 2021, I took a leap of faith and opened Zfairygodplanner — a business that started as nothing more than a hope, a dream, and a small canvas logo. Before I knew it, that little dream became a thriving reality. Since then, I’ve had the honor of planning over 100 weddings, along with countless baby showers, private events, and baptisms.

At Zfairygodplanner, we believe happily-ever-afters don’t just happen in movies — they’re carefully crafted. We make the impossible… possible, bringing every celebration to life with creativity, care, and just the right amount of sparkle.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a girl who believed in magic.
Not the kind from fairy tales alone, but the kind we make ourselves — in a perfectly set table, in a room filled with laughter, in the way love transforms a moment into a memory.

I was the one arranging flowers from the garden into “centerpieces,” sketching dresses in the margins of my notebooks, and hosting tea parties as if they were royal banquets. I believed every celebration, no matter how small, deserved beauty and intention.

Somewhere along the way, the world tried to trade that magic for “practical” and “realistic.” But I never let go of the part of me that saw possibilities everywhere. That girl still lives here — in every wedding I design, every detail I perfect, every couple’s dream I bring to life. She’s the reason I opened Zfairygodplanner. She’s the reason I still believe the impossible… is possible.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“You don’t have to shrink to fit anyone’s idea of who you should be. Your love for beauty, details, and celebration isn’t ‘too much’ — it’s your gift. One day, you’ll use it to create moments so magical that people will remember them for the rest of their lives. Keep dreaming exactly the way you do now… because it’s going to come true.”

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is real — but she’s the polished, steady, ready-for-anything version. She’s the one who keeps calm when the florist is late, the linens are wrinkled, or the rain won’t stop. She’s the professional who makes sure every guest sees only the magic.

But there’s also the quieter me — the one who still gets butterflies when the music starts and the bride walks down the aisle, the one who tears up during vows, the one who will spend an extra hour perfecting the smallest detail because I know it will make someone’s day.

They’re both real. One is my anchor in the chaos; the other is my heart in the work. Together, they’re why I can do what I do and love it.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
People might think my legacy is about the events themselves — the flowers, the gowns, the perfect timelines. But that’s not it. Those things are beautiful, but they’re only the stage.

The truth is, my life wasn’t a fairytale. It was a struggle. From the outside, many thought I came from perfection — but I, too, have a darker past. I had to fight my way through it, and I learned early on that magic isn’t handed to you. You create it, piece by piece, moment by moment.

What I hope people remember is how they felt — cared for, understood, and free to be fully present in their own moment. My real legacy isn’t the weddings I planned, but the way I protected joy for the people living them.

And I want people to know this: no matter what your past looks like, the story ahead is yours to create. The magic I leave behind isn’t in the pictures… it’s in the laughter, the calm, and the memories people carry long after the music stops.
