RASHAD, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am in school at this current moment to become a teacher. I have one remaining year before I receive my Bachelor’s
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Shadcore. I am a Hip-Hop artist, songwriter and author. I am a part of a songwriting team known as Soul Supply and we recently had 3 of our songs placed in Kevin Hart’s new adult animated series, “Lil Kev”. I also will be releasing my new album and book on my 50th birthday, November 20, 2025. They both are titled, “I Left a Mess in There.”
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I have always been a dreamer. When I was 8 years old I participated in my first play and I caught the performance bug. It later led to me loving the stage as an emcee. I’m still a dreamer. Always have been and always will be!
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
What I would say to my younger self is to not be afraid to take more risks. Travel more. There’s a big world out there. Get some new experiences but also learn the importance of patience and try to be more content and appreciate the present.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
People like to accredit the universe for good fortunes and for good things happening in their lives but they don’t realize it is the Creator of the universe who is responsible – God.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am definitely doing what I was born to do and that’s inspire others through my creativity as an artist.
