Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Jada Anastasia of Tampa

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jada Anastasia. Check out our conversation below.

Jada, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
What’s normal? If you find out, let me know! Right now, I’m balancing life as an entrepreneur, family woman, and simply taking time to be Jada—while navigating chaos with grace. I’ve been running Just Jada Skin for five years and JA Creatives for three, so my days are a mix of skincare magic, creative projects, and family time. Oh—and I just built and designed my first home, which sounds glamorous until you see the mountain of boxes I’m still unpacking. So basically, my life is equal parts boss moves, mom moments, and organized chaos.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jada Anastasia. I’m a native New Yorker with a big love for creativity and helping people feel like the best version of themselves. I wear a few hats—entrepreneur, wifey, mom, and the proud owner of two brands: Just Jada Skin, my skincare line of five years, and JA Creatives, my design and branding company. Both come straight from my heart—they’re not just about products or pretty visuals, but about making people feel seen, confident, and empowered. Whether I’m helping someone glow through skincare or bringing a brand’s story to life through design, I always aim to create with purpose and joy. Right now, I’m focused on growing both businesses and pouring into projects that truly light me up.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
It wasn’t just one person—it was the core people in my family who really shaped me. My mom, Felicia; my aunts, Jan and Val; my grandfather, Louis; my late grandmother, Bertha; my adopted father, Henry; and my uncles Louis, Greg, Mark, Bobby and Bryan. They always made me feel larger than life. My mom, Felicia, is the definition of strength. She raised me as a single mother, and because of her love, sacrifice, and resilience, I never missed a thing. Everything I am is rooted in the foundation she built. The other women in my life, my aunts and grandmother, taught me how to be a lady but also how to hold my own. The men—my uncles and grandfather—taught me the rules of the game: never settle for less and always keep my standards high. Because of them, I grew up knowing I could be equal parts graceful and unstoppable. I’m humble and grateful—but I also know I’m that chick.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of my deepest wounds was surviving sexual assault—first as a child by someone I thought was a friend…a few years older than me and later in college by someone I trusted. For years, I stayed silent. I questioned whether it even happened, doubted my own memories, and sometimes made excuses for the people who hurt me. Even now, I wrestle with the pain and the self-doubt that come with being a survivor. But speaking my truth instead of carrying it in silence has been part of my healing. My husband has been a steady source of support. He doesn’t try to fix my scars—he holds space for them, and for me. That’s been one of the greatest gifts in my healing. It’s a daily fight, and I am stronger than ever. My story is not just about what I endured—it’s about resilience, faith, and refusing to let pain define me.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely! The public, social media and whatever else you see is the real me—I don’t know how to be anything else. Consistency is my superpower. I’ve never been the type to dim my light, shrink myself, or play small just to make others comfortable. I’ve walked through storms, carried scars, and still show up vibrant, resilient, and unapologetically me. I’m spicy, I’m bold, and I’m proud of the woman I’ve become. But I’m also deeply kind, loud in the best way, supportive, and empathetic to my core. That mix is my truth. And if I can’t show up fully as her, then that space was never meant for me.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Honestly, people are going to tell whatever stories they want. What matters most to me is what my daughters KNOW about their mom. I want them to remember they were loved beyond measure, that they can do anything they set their minds to, and that they were created by God exactly as they’re meant to be—perfectly and purposefully made. I want them to always feel free to be exactly who they are, because that’s what their mother did. They are the greatest part of me, and what they carry in their hearts about me will always hold more weight than any story anyone else could ever tell.
