Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Dr Lynn Anderson of City of Sarasota

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dr Lynn Anderson. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Dr Lynn, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Morning tea and reading a newsletter. I teach karma yoga classes, and in between, I spend most of my time working on my novel.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a Naturopath, yoga nutrition therapist, karma master, published author, international speaker, and video producer with over 40 years of experience in natural health and fitness. I have been featured in Redbook, Reader’s Digest, Huffington Post, Shape, SELF, and various other national publications, TV networks, and Podcasts. I am the author and producer of the Soul Walking series, and Doctor Lynn’s Proactive-Aging Workouts, DVDs, and TV with international distribution; I teach weekly online Zoom classes and therapy classes at SMH. http://www.doctorlynn.com A wife, mother, and grandmother of three

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with the path of Karma most shaped my life. Through it, I discovered my own reincarnation as well as my purpose and the meaning of life.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Being abandoned as a young child and then unloved were deep wounds. Again, my deep commitment to Karma helped me to heal them. When you realize that it is up to you to rise above life’s challenges and find your inner worth, you begin to heal. But this takes strength and determination, and the most important thing is to learn to forgive others and to forgive yourself. We are all human, subject to err.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
My novel series. It is a passion and something I have wanted to do since I was young, but I never had the time or means to commit. Now, being semi-retired, I am fully committed. Never let go of your dreams. Sometimes you need to put them on the shelf to meet other priorities, but if you hold onto them one day, you will be able to realize them.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was kind, compassionate, and always took the time to listen to others and give them support. Sometimes all someone needs is to know that someone cares – I hope I have been that person.
