Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Andreina Barroso of Carrolwood area

We recently had the chance to connect with Andreina Barroso and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Andreina, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Well I have Been discovering I like to walk every morning at 9:00 am, and taking a little be sunlight ( of course with sunscreen) 🤩 normally I’m going to the gym and do weights everyday, but im feeling great after have contact with the nature, is helping me to be more in the present moment!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Andreina, I’m esthetician, owner or Barroso beauty med spa, my specialty is acne treatments, rosacea, anti- aging, and my brand is all about blending beauty, wellness, and lifestyle in a way that feels both inspiring and attainable. I started by sharing my own self-care rituals, and over time it grew into a platform where I collaborate with brands I truly believe in. What makes my work unique is the authenticity—I don’t just highlight products, if I recommend something is because I use and I love it.

I love showing that beauty isn’t just about looking good, it’s about feeling good and carrying that energy into every part of your life.

What makes my brand unique is the authenticity behind it.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
“The part of me I’m learning to release is the one that believed I always had to give more than I received. For years it helped me feel valued, but now I understand that true strength comes from balance—honoring my own needs as much as I honor others. I’m letting that old version of me go, with gratitude, to make space for growth, joy, and authenticity.”

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the defining wounds of my life has been learning to navigate moments of loss and heartbreak 💔 my mom passed away years ago, this loss was devastating for me.

My healing has come through working doing what I love, my passion, helping people struggle with self- confidence from their acne, and acne scars, My healing also have become through self-care rituals, leaning into wellness practices, such exercise, healthy food and healthy habits, surrounding myself with people and experiences that truly nourish me ( I spend my time with positive and vitamin people) I’ve also embraced the idea that healing isn’t a straight line—it’s a process of continually choosing myself, again and again. That journey has shaped the woman I am today!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the beauty and wellness industry is the idea that perfection is the goal, that we should always be chasing flawless skin, a certain body type, or a lifestyle that looks effortless. That illusion creates pressure and unrealistic expectations for so many people.
I’m feeling we need more real faces, without filters. “Confidence doesn’t come from chasing perfection—it comes from authenticity and consistency.”

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had only 10 years left, I would stop holding myself back out of fear or the need for approval. I’d stop overcommitting to things that don’t bring me joy, and I’d let go of relationships or routines that drain my energy. Definitely be more selective with people I spend my time and energy! I’d focus on what lights me up, what nourishes my soul, and my heart!
