We recently had the chance to connect with Lani Renee and have shared our conversation below.
Lani, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
Am I walking a path, or am I wandering? Well, I believe I am both on path and always wandering. My path is sacred, and a living testimony of the natural and spiritual experiences that I have had since I was young. The Seeker is forever questioning and searching. The Healer is always diving deep and discovering. But, the Wanderer, that part of me is a little gypsy, who I love, and who trusts the mystery.
My path began when I was 18, and it has been a calling, and a great guiding light in my life. It doesn’t mean it’s been easy, far from it, but because I chose to stay on path, and heal, and do the necessary work to grow and mature authentically, I have been blessed, both my personally and professionally.
My work is now an expression of the 35+ years I have been devoted to wondering, traveling, moving, starting over, and seeing the absolute divine design of what has become… a beautiful journey.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I’m Lani Renee, BHS, LMT, and Holistic Health & Wellness Practitioner. (MM45088)
I grew up a free spirit in California, I graduated from San Diego State University in 1992, (Health Science and Physical Education), and I dedicated 13 years of my initial career in the Fitness Industry. As an early seeker in life, I knew “health & wellness” was going to be my focus, but what naturally evolved was my passion for alternative health and esoteric healing. In 2003, my life shifted completely, and I devoted the next 22 years to my spiritual learning and awakening, and integrating massage therapy, healing, and spirituality into my work.
Lani Renee Holistics, is my private practice and holistic studio located in the heart of Lakeland, Florida. I specialize in holistic health & wellness, and offer integrative massage therapy, holistic healing, esoteric teachings, and magical mentoring. I work with clients in studio, and I’m available online for those who do not live in Central Florida. Visit my website: www.lanirenee.com.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I believe it took a few significant people in my life to “see” me, before I could see my true self. The first was my softball coach in High School, Coach Pete, who saw my absolute passion to do my best. The second, was my first healer, Elisa, who saw my gifts before I did, and instead of defining them, she rather shared with me the sacred medicine to develop them. And lastly, but most importantly, my daughter Charly Renee, sees my ageless spirit with her angelic eyes, and when I look back I see nothing but my unlimited potential.
Seeing oneself is an art, and it has taken a lifetime to truly remove the layers of who I am not, and to reveal the essence of who I really am. An empath, an alchemist, and a “mystery” still in motion… This process continues, and the journey to self-awareness is a beautiful one.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been many times that I have almost given up. The truth is, it takes a “tribe” or a community of like-minded, heart-centered, and sensitive souls to truly travel a path to enlightenment, and that is not only difficult to find, but really hard to maintain. To do it “alone” is virtually impossible when we need each other to learn from and grow with.
I’m grateful for the moments when myself and others experienced the collective force that pushes us forward in service to the Light and to inspire the Good of All is
My sensitivity is my power, though I still hide it to survive. Which is related to my fear, which is the source of my power unleashed. Funny now, but not then, as a child my mother would put me on a leash. I’m sure that feeling of having been restrained is the source of much of my inner child’s sadness, and later my own.
You ask if there was something I could say to that little girl… well, I would certainly tell her to burn the leash, set her vision on the stars, and not to worry because freedom will come! I would also tell her, and myself at every age, to stay awake, and to pay attention, because life goes by fast, and there is so much we miss!
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
My values are real: stay healthy, strive for wellness and energetic balance, keep breathing and meditate not medicate, eat well, be honest to myself and others, show up, rise up, free myself in movement, keep my shadows in check, and appreciate and honor life elementally and dimensionally for it will cease one day.
My thoughts must support my becoming. I try to think well to live well. The negative will enter, so positive affirmations and my daily mantra keep me going forward and in the right direction.
My views are surprising to some, but when I believe in something it’s based in truth, my truth, and I make sure they’re aligned to my life, how I live my life, and therefore, my goals in life. I know there are world views, and political views, but I prefer my spiritual view!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
My story, my life, my legacy, started at birth. I was born to heal. I thought for a long time that that meant I was a Healer and my job was to heal others. I’m so grateful I learned early, that I must heal “self” first and then share the magic with those who are also born to heal… themselves.
I feel blessed that my career has evolved, transformed itself, and led me along my sacred journey. For over 30 years, I have worked one-on-one with clients, and I’ve had the pleasure to teach spirituality and metaphysics for 22+ years.
Changing lives is hard. Transforming a life is even more difficult. But, I have always said… If not me, then who?
I love what I do, and I can only hope that I have helped souls find their way to knowing themselves better, healing a little, and loving a whole lot more!
