Today we’d like to introduce you to Nelly Flaque.
Hi Nelly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In my 20s, I worked out casually, but as life got busy and kids came along, fitness naturally slipped to the back burner. After having my second child, I reached a point where I no longer felt like myself. A friend invited me to start running with her, and that small step slowly opened the door back into fitness. From running, I transitioned into lifting, and for the first time, I started seeing the results I had always hoped for.
That progress made me feel strong, confident, and capable again, and it sparked something in me. I wanted other women to experience that same transformation, so I became certified as a NASM Personal Trainer and Precision Nutrition Coach.
I’m also a busy mom with two boys who play travel sports, so I understand the realities of juggling schedules and responsibilities. That’s why I’m such a firm believer in making time for yourself. I always tell my clients, if you’re good, the rest of the household will be good. Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish; it’s what allows you to show up fully for your family.
After a few years of training, I felt inspired to push myself even further. I wanted a challenge that would truly take me out of my comfort zone, so I signed up for a bodybuilding competition, thinking I’d do just one. I ended up falling completely in love with the process. I earned my Pro Card in the Bikini division with the OCB, and today I compete in the NPC, continuing to push myself, grow, and lead by example for the people I coach.
This journey has also become a passion I share with my husband, and after almost 18 years together, it has brought us closer than ever. Fitness has become something we bond over, encourage each other through, and celebrate together.
What started as a personal goal became a passion, and ultimately laid the foundation for what I’ve built today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Balancing motherhood, work, and my own fitness goals has brought plenty of challenges. My work schedule is limited since I train while my kids are at school, and there are days I wish I had more time, but I always remind myself that this is the season I’m in right now. There were also seasons when my kids’ travel sports, long days, and limited energy made it tough to stay consistent.
I’ve dealt with self-doubt, setbacks, and the physical and mental demands of bodybuilding prep while still trying to show up for my family. But every struggle taught me resilience and discipline, and it’s made me a stronger coach, athlete, and mom.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business, Nelly F Fitness, is built around one core mission: I help men/women build strength, confidence, and sustainable habits that truly fit their lifestyle. I specialize in strength training, body recomposition, and realistic nutrition coaching.
What I’m known for is how personal and supportive my coaching is. Nothing I do is cookie-cutter. I pay close attention to form, programming, progress, and the mental side of the journey.
What sets me apart is that I genuinely understand the chaos of life, kids, sports, work, schedules, exhaustion, and I teach women how to still make themselves a priority. My approach isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress, confidence, and long-term results.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the community I’ve built. My clients know they’re supported, encouraged, and guided every step of the way. I want readers to know that my services, whether it’s custom training programs, macro coaching, accountability, or lifestyle coaching, are all created with one purpose: to help people become the strongest, healthiest version of themselves.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is making a positive impact helping people feel stronger, healthier, and more confident. Fitness changed my life, and now I get to help others find that same strength. My family is also a huge part of my “why.” They’re the reason I push to be better and to lead by example every day.
