Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Villalobos.
Jorge, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started by founding a Travel company in Ecuador, specialized in organizing tours all over Ecuador and mainly to the Galapagos islands, over the years the company grew to a point that we needed a stronger presence where our main clients were located and that was USA, I decided to move to USA in 2011 and I found Exclusive Destinations Inc, with the main idea to promote the Galapagos islands and Ecuador and be closer to our main clients, understanding their travel preferences and needs has been an important key for our growth. One of the most important destinations close to Galapagos is Machu Picchu and for that reason we started having lots of enquiries to Galapagos combining with Machu Picchu which took me to also open offices in Lima – Peru. after the pandemic Exclusive Destinations Inc has expanded its offer to more unique places in South America, which besides Galapagos and Machu PIcchu we also have now cruises to Antarctica, Patagonia, luxury tours to Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
First obstacle that any business can encounter is competition, some of our competition use not too much ethical strategies and usually they do big discounts on similar tours but they also cut lots of corners in their proposed itineraries which makes a big difference Another huge challenge that we had to go through is the pandemic, which makes us realize how sensitive the travel industry is to the changing world and its huge events/
As you know, we’re big fans of Exclusive Destinations Inc. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

What makes you happy?
Different things in life make me happy, when it comes to my personal life, being surrounded by my kids make me truly happy, sharing a glass of wine with my wife over our deep conversations make me happy and in the business side, knowing that our clients go back home with deep memories of the countries they visited with us, also make me happy.
