GED Solutions, Inc. was born out of a deeply personal experience shared by its founders. Three highly skilled colleagues were unexpectedly laid off from the same division of a company. Faced with uncertainty, they came together to reflect on their future. During that conversation, a key question emerged:
What can we do with what we know?
That simple yet powerful question became the catalyst for the creation of GED Solutions, Inc. Each founder recognized the opportunity to transform their expertise and experiences into an organization dedicated to empowering individuals through Growth, Employment, and Development (GED)—three guiding principles that also represent the initials of their names. These words, fundamental to social progress, became the foundation of the organization’s mission.
What began as a personal challenge quickly evolved into a purpose-driven initiative, proving that resilience, knowledge, and collaboration can open new doors and create meaningful impact in people’s lives. Today, GED Solutions, Inc. continues to help individuals secure employment, obtain certifications, and unlock their professional potential.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey of GED Solutions, Inc. has not always been smooth. One of our biggest challenges has been securing consistent funding to support our mission of empowering individuals through education and workforce development. There were times when promising programs were delayed, and moments when the impact we envisioned felt just out of reach.
Yet, these challenges have only strengthened our resolve. Each obstacle has taught us the value of perseverance, creativity, and community support. We learned to forge stronger partnerships, advocate more passionately for resources, and innovate programs that stretch every dollar to make the greatest impact.
Through these struggles, the dedication of our team—and the unwavering vision of our CEO, Edgar Martinez—has been our guiding light. Every setback has reminded us why this work matters, and every success, no matter how small, has been a powerful reminder of the lives we are transforming.
