Inspiring Conversations with Candice Burch of Burch Tree Counseling Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Burch.

Candice, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my career in community mental health, working with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. That work was deeply meaningful, but while serving on the FACT team, I often felt limited in how much impact I could truly make. When I later had the opportunity to intern in private practice, I discovered how rewarding it was to walk alongside clients as they made real, lasting progress. I fell in love with the process and knew this was the path I wanted to pursue.
Today, I’m grateful to run my own private practice, with the support of my husband Mohammad, where I specialize in helping individuals heal from trauma through EMDR therapy. My passion is guiding clients in releasing the burdens of the past so they can live more fully in the present and step into a healthier, more hopeful future.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. In the beginning, it took time to build my caseload and learn how to use SEO so clients could find me. I even had to take a part-time job while growing my practice. But every step was worth it, because it gave me the foundation to create the thriving practice I have today, one where I get to help people heal and step into the lives they deserve.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At Burch Tree Counseling Center, I provide personalized, trauma-informed therapy to help people heal and reclaim their lives. I specialize in EMDR therapy, which helps clients process past trauma and stop carrying the weight of the past into the present. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and compassionate space where people feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow.

What sets my practice apart is the blend of evidence-based techniques with a deeply human approach. I don’t just treat symptoms; I help clients create lasting change and build resilience. I’m most proud of creating a practice that feels both professional and personal, where clients truly feel supported every step of the way.

For me, my brand is all about healing, hope, and transformation. I want readers to know that I offer a space where they can release past burdens, understand themselves more deeply, and step confidently into the life they deserve.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
If you’re providing a service and want to attract clients, my advice is to really imagine your ideal client. Think about who they are, what they’re doing, and what challenges they face. Step into their perspective and consider what would grab their attention or make them seek your help. When you create your marketing and services with that mindset, you naturally attract the clients who are the best fit for you.
