Inspiring Conversations with Jasmine Mohadjer of Eyelid Surgeons of Tampa Bay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Mohadjer.

Hi Jasmine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
During my first year of medical school, I did an internship at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. As I was interested in surgery, I randomly got matched up with the ophthalmology department and fell in love with what I saw and learned. During my time in Memphis, I got to spend time with the Oculoplastic Surgeons who did eyelid, tear duct, and orbital surgery and fell in love with it. I pursued a career in ophthalmology and during residency, I applied for a fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, of which there were only 12 positions available in the country. I was lucky enough to interview at 11 of them and matched at my number 1 choice in St. Louis. After two years of doing nothing but Oculoplastic surgery, I moved to Tampa Bay for work. This year, I started my own practice. My practice consists of about 50% reconstructive surgery, including surgery for droopy eyelids, skin cancer reconstruction, and tear duct surgery–and 50% cosmetic surgery, including blepharoplasty to remove redundant skin and fat, laser skin resurfacing, and fillers/botox and other treatments. I love the variety in my job and the ability to help people see better, function better, and look and feel better.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have worked really hard and continue to do so to provide the utmost care for my patients in a comfortable environment where patients are always put first.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My practice is a boutique practice where we strive for excellent care in a friendly, comfortable environment. Customer service is very important to us and we do all we can to provide for our patients. As a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained oculofacial plastic surgeon, Dr. Mohadjer is uniquely trained to address most any issues around the eyelids and into the face. Dr. Mohadjer is involved in every aspect of her patient care and does every stitch and every injection for all treatments her patients receive.

What makes you happy?
When patients are so amazed by their outcomes, so pleased with how little downtime and discomfort they had, and share with me improvements in quality of life, experiences, and relationships after eyelid procedures.
