Hidden Gems: Meet William “Bill” Eshenbaugh of Eshenbaugh Land Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to William “Bill” Eshenbaugh.

Hi William “Bill”, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my land firm in 1992 and have focused on land for development as Tampa has grown north south and east.

Prior to starting, I spent 2 years with the RTC (Resolution Trust Corp) selling failed saving and loan assets.

1983- 1990 President ofd Rittenhouse Homes, a custon home builder
1966-1982 Rose to President of Tajon, Inc. a PA based special commodities trucking company
1964-66 Dun & Bradstreet Credit Reporter, Prudential Insurance mortgage loan officer
1964 Grad Penn State University, Finance major

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Heck NO!
Tajon was non-union, $1 mil /yr rev when I joined, had 2 strikes to organize Tajon, lead company to $25 mil /rev. Deregulation under Jimmy Carter caused owners to liquidate.
1987-90 recession
2008 was a killer recession, we sold $100 mil in land on 2007, $6 mil in 2008. Did all bank work 2009-2012
Struggled in 1995 when RTC and FDIC work ended to get firm on track, remade it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Eshenbaugh Land Company ?
