I never thought doing hair would actually become a career for me. I used to just play in my family’s hair all the time, you know, just for fun. I loved trying different styles and seeing people happy when I was done. It was just a hobby back then I didn’t think it could turn into anything serious.
Then one day, I was looking for work, and a friend of mine referred me to someone who was hiring. I started out as an assistant, just learning the ropes, helping out, and soaking up everything I could. Over time, I worked hard, practiced a lot, and eventually became a hairstylist myself.
That’s when I really found my passion, especially for locs. I love the process the patience, the creativity, and the way I get to connect with my clients. Watching someone start their loc journey and seeing their hair grow healthy and beautiful over time is so rewarding.
Eventually, I realized I wanted to create my own space a place where people could feel relaxed, cared for, and confident. That’s how PureCrown Sanctuary came to life. Balancing life, kids, and running a business hasn’t been easy, but staying consistent and showing up every day has made it possible.
Now, I’m proud of what I’ve built. My salon isn’t just about hair it’s about making people feel good about themselves. And honestly, this is just the beginning. I’m excited to keep growing, learning, and helping others feel confident in their natural beauty.

Has it been a smooth road? Not at all. There have definitely been challenges and obstacles along the way. Learning the craft, building my skills, and finding the right clients took a lot of patience and hard work. There were times I doubted myself or felt unsure if I could make it as a hairstylist.
But those challenges taught me a lot. They pushed me to grow, stay consistent, and really refine my skills. Every obstacle became a lesson, and looking back, I’m proud of how far I’ve come and the career I’ve built.
We’ve been impressed with Pure Crown Sanctuary (PCS Beauty) , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is PureCrown Sanctuary, a salon suite I created to be more than just a place to get your hair done. I specialize in natural hair care, with a strong focus on locs helping clients start their loc journey, maintain healthy hair, and feel confident in their natural beauty. I’m known for my attention to detail, my passion for helping clients achieve the best results, and the personalized care I give to everyone who sits in my chair.
What sets me apart is the experience I provide. From the moment someone walks into my salon suite, my goal is for them to feel relaxed, cared for, and empowered. I combine my years of experience with a calm, healing atmosphere so clients leave not just with beautiful hair, but also feeling refreshed and confident.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see the natural hair and loc industry continuing to grow and evolve. More people are embracing their natural hair, and there’s a bigger demand for specialized care, education, and high-quality products. I also see trends toward personalized experiences, professional training, and natural, effective hair care continuing to rise.
For my own business, I want to grow PureCrown Sanctuary beyond just one location. My goal is to open multiple salon suites or locations in different areas, creating spaces where clients can experience the same level of personalized, expert care no matter where they go. I also plan to launch my own line of hair care products, specifically designed for locs and natural hair, so clients can maintain healthy hair at home with products they trust.
Overall, I want to continue elevating the industry by showing that natural hair care can be professional, empowering, and accessible, while building a brand that people love and trust.
