Hidden Gems: Meet Samarie Weismantel of Fat Chihuahua Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samarie Weismantel.

Hi Samarie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started as a teacher but wanted to branch out and provide fun opportunities for kids instead of the rigidity of school. I met my husband, and he gave me the courage and pushed me to follow my dreams. Fat Chihuahua Entertainment is a great avenue for me to bring the fun to wherever the kids are and put a smile on their faces.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning a business is never a super smooth road. There have been some challenges like rising costs of games and gas. Also, finding reliable employees to help manage and run the business is hard. Mine is a mobile business so vehicle maintenance and repairs have also been a challenge.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are family owned and operated. The company brings quality mobile entertainment solutions directly to our customers. We are mainly known for our amazing state-of-the-art Video Game Truck, interactive mobile laser tag, photo booths, Pitchburst, glimmer tattoos, and more. Birthdays, weddings, special milestones, corporate functions and family reunions are just a few reasons people have us out to bring the fun.

We started out as Rolling Video Games St. Pete in 2016 and wanted to set ourselves apart from that brand and changed our name to Fat Chihuahua Entertainment. All of our employees are Level ll screened and background checked because the children’s safety is our highest priority.

The thing I am most proud about is brand-wise is when we receive a call from a new customer saying they’ve heard great things through word of mouth knowing that we provided a quality service that somebody enjoyed so much they recommended us to other people.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I wouldn’t consider myself a huge risk taker but I did quit my teaching job without having anything to fall back on. I would call that risky! I dove headfirst into this business venture not fully knowing if it would work out. There is usually a high correlation between the amount of risk you take and the amount of reward you could receive. I believe people should get out of their comfort zones and take more risks.
