Today we’d like to introduce you to Kirsten Nye.
Hi Kirsten, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Around the time I was finishing up my MBA at the University of Georgia, a colleague of mine came to me with the concept of Sky Direct Media but didn’t really have the bandwidth to get it started. I was brought on to help me really bring the concept of Sky Direct to life. I was able to have a hand in everything from branding, to industry events, processes & operations. It’s been a lot of fun seeing what was just an idea come fully to fruition!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As with any young business, growing pains can be tricky. But, we’ve been lucky to have built a great team that has helped us scale! We’ve learned to not chew off more than we can, but to also not be afraid to take risks. It’s a balancing act at the end of the day!

Sky Direct Media was founded with one goal- to help our clients grow their businesses. We specialize in direct mail advertising, and while we have clients in almost every industry, home services are probably our biggest niche.
We love helping our clients figure out who their best target audience is, as well as building a successful strategy for them. We have clients all over the US but especially love working with local businesses in Tampa and St. Augustine!
I’m really proud of how much we have grown in the last few years and the connections we’ve made in the industry.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I have joined a few different networking groups in the Tampa area, but what has worked best for me is finding a group of like-minded women to surround myself with (shoutout to Tampa Bay Women’s Professional Networking Group!). We keep each other motivated, celebrate each other’s successes, and bounce ideas off each other. They’ve been a great resource when I’ve run into new challenges too!
