Hi Cookie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Oh, what a process it’s been. I was in college, minding my “I only write online devotional” business as a fresh new believer, when a local church who was keeping up with me asked me to do a poem for an outreach they were planning in the small city’s town square. Initially, I denied and told the requestor they had the wrong girl (at the time, I did not write poems let alone speak in front of crowds), but they simple chuckled and told me they know it’s me. In my prayer time the evening I received the request, I asked the Lord if I was really supposed to do this and He gave me an undeniable “yes”. In obedience, I confirmed my attendance with the church and proceeded into quiet time with myself to figure out what I was supposed to say yet in a matter of one day I wrote and memorized a spoken word that changed the course of my life forever. I surprisingly began getting booked and requested to recite at different events in that town and in my hometown. 5 years of “only doing this because God asked me to”, a FlavorFest meeting to help me to see how the gift was designed for others, 3 years of adding motivations that included what it did for others, a dark season of healing that prompted me to look deeper, and here I am 2 years into how this very gift was meant to help me remain aligned with my being too.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not! lol Struggles came with consistency, continuation, growth out of what I defined as myself, and growth into confidence with a gift that revealed so much more of who and what I thought I was.

Cookie Captures, my photography business, specializes in capturing vision in families, businesses, and individuals. Crunch financials, my Financial and business advising company, exists to make complicated financial business processes easier. My love for people and desire to do business with excellence and in order (structure, communications, and care) are what set me apart from others in my craft. I’m proud of my branding models and my consistency of order.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Oh, as an interesting kid. lol I tend to say I was raised by the Rugrats as I had this Tommy Pickles imagination and skill of problem-solving. I could lead friends and siblings to be in on some innocently wild theories about friends of our parents and general playtime adventures. Along with that, I was very helpful, kind-hearted, stubborn, analytical, responsible, and a lover of children smaller than me… I enjoyed puzzles, babies, science, mathematics, exploring outside, helping my dad with his business tasks, and being around my plethora of cousins. I believed in there being good in just about all people except the two where my theories actually caused more harm than good (oh, the stories on this). I tended to stay to myself and wasn’t very expression without others asking questions, but in the right comfortable setting I was a ball of energy serving joy and all my being had to offer.
