We recently had the chance to connect with Galina Sowls and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Galina, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Lately, it’s been walking the beach and collecting unique shells, especially scallop shells. I love noticing the natural patterns, textures, and soft colors that nature creates. I can spend hours doing it without realizing time has passed. It feels meditative and brings me back to myself.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Galina, and I’m the founder and designer of Lavish Tides, a sea-inspired jewelry brand for free-spirited souls. I create bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and keepsakes using sustainably sourced gemstones, shells, and natural materials that feel grounding and easy to wear.
Lavish Tides grew from my deep connection to the ocean and a desire to slow down and create with intention. Every piece is made with a focus on quality, natural beauty, and meaning. Right now, I’m growing Lavish Tides into a brand that celebrates freedom, self-connection, and carrying a gentle reminder of the sea wherever you go.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My parents. They’ve owned their own business for as long as I can remember, and I grew up watching them build it with consistency and care. From a young age, I learned that honesty, integrity, and truly understanding your customers matter more than anything. Those values shaped how I approach my work today and are at the foundation of how I run Lavish Tides.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
That’s a great question! I would tell my younger self to trust her timing. Not everything needs to happen at once, and there’s no rush to have it all figured out. The quiet seasons, the slow growth, and the moments of doubt are all part of building something meaningful.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would say that freedom, authenticity, and meaningful connection really matter to me. I care deeply about creating a life and business that feels aligned, intentional, and rooted in nature. Quality over quantity, honesty, and staying true to myself and my values guide everything I do, especially with Lavish Tides.

I feel most at peace when I’m near the ocean. The sound of the waves, the open horizon, and the steady rhythm slow everything down and bring me back to myself. It’s where I breathe deeper, think more clearly, and feel grounded again.
