Today we’d like to introduce you to St. Mark Village. They and their team shared their story with us below:
In 1977, Pastor James H. Fresh began to dream about a community that could take care of his aging, yet still vibrant and energetic parishioners. That dream materialized in the creation of St. Mark Village, a Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Palm Harbor that offers all levels of care including Rehabilitation, Therapy, and even its own recently opened Physician Clinic, in partnership with Curana Health.
We currently are home to 450 residents, ranging in age from 63 to 105, and have earned several accolades including a 5-Star CMS Rating (which is very rare), US News & World Report Awards, and most recently nationwide recognition by Newsweek/Statistica – all acknowledging the quality of care provided to our residents.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Caring for people in this special and sometimes very vulnerable season of their lives, while navigating family dynamics and emotions, coupled with federal and state mandates and regulations has certainly posed challenges and learning opportunities over the years.
There is a lot of satisfaction in knowing our community is doing all we can to fulfill our mission which is “to enrich the lives of the residents we serve by creating an environment that fulfills their every need—body, mind, and spirit.”

St. Mark Village isn’t your typical retirement community. Seniors’ tastes and preferences are constantly changing and becoming more refined, and our community, including the care and services we provide, is evolving to meet those desires and needs.
We are constantly striving to update our buildings, are intentionally offering more health and wellness opportunities through our new Village Wellness Studio and onside Physician Clinic, and are incorporating more and more technology to streamline processes, strengthen communications, and make living (and working!) at St. Mark Village more fun and pleasurable.
