Exploring Life & Business with Ren Lopa of Wolf & Rabbit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ren Lopa.

Hi Ren, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I always knew that I wanted to help people, but I never could have imagined the journey I would go through to get there.

I enrolled in beauty school when the ink was barely dry on my bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida! I was nervous but excited. I graduated from college in 2008, at a time when the economy had taken a huge hit – and I honestly knew immediately that cubicle, 9-5 life was not for me. I wanted to be creative, artistic and loving. The beauty industry offered that and so much more! I went on to work behind the chair at a Salon Today Top 200 salon in Tampa for seven years.

As a hairstylist, I created a beauty blog for my clients to help them find better information and was doing weekly tutorials for about three years. In that time, my blog gained national attention and I started attracting salon owners and stylists from across the country who were looking for support with writing a blog and bringing in more clients to their salons.

I loved my work behind the chair and so I resisted and said “no” to many offers that came in! It was hard to picture myself as something more or to believe that my destiny had bigger dreams for me. Eventually, I started saying yes and it was life-changing!

In 2016, even though I was bringing in great money behind the chair, I decided to open Wolf & Rabbit Inc and go all-in with helping stylists get more clients!

There is so much beautiful evolution that happens when you open your own business and I feel so honored for all of the incredible mentors and clients that we’ve had. We celebrate four years in business on July 1, 2021. I still pinch myself when I think of the 60+ salons and stylists we’ve helped, the 1,000’s of social media posts, the emails that we’ve written and the money we’ve helped people make.

What I really love about living in Tampa is that it is full of other women founders who are fearless in pursuing their dreams. Knowing that I was hustling right alongside them and not alone in this journey helped me keep going on the sleepless nights.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I feel like people underestimate the inner work that it takes to run a business. To have the confidence to know that you have something valuable to offer and people are better off when you’re in their life. Imposter Syndrome is too real and I see many people give up early or keep themselves small.

The hardest part is seeing a bigger vision of yourself and what you’re capable of and not allowing yourself to give up when something doesn’t how you wanted it to.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My company, Wolf & Rabbit Inc., specializes in helping hairstylists get more clients! We are one of the only companies in the nation that has the foundation of a Bachelors Degree in Marketing AND the experience of growing a successful career behind the chair. I believe this gives our clients the best of both worlds.

Bonnie doubled her sales in 30 days.

Amanda hit her first 5 figure month AND has been able to maintain it over the past year!

Liana booked five new clients in 24 hours.

Gina found her voice and had the confidence to leave a toxic salon environment.

Brittany made 2k+ more in only one month.

There are so many more stories like this – but our clients are what drives me every morning. I am in awe of the power of simply having the RIGHT tools and accountability. It is truly life-changing. And I feel really proud of these stories and the women who are living successful lives doing what they truly love.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe that the quality that has led to my success is that I wasn’t afraid to find mentors and ask for their help.

It’s easy to try and think that we should all know everything and be able to do it on our own. But I believe we’ve been able to grow at the speed we have and have a business that lasted through a pandemic and to 4 years in business because I have someone who holds me accountable, helps me tackle challenges head on and shows me the next steps in order to scale and impact more people.

At first, maybe you have $100/month that you can spend to have support. SPEND IT! Eventually, that will grow you to where you can spend $1,000/ month, $10,000/month.

Knowing your limitations and allowing yourself to be supported is VITAL to truly growing a business that will become a legacy.
