Exploring Life & Business with Dan Jarvis of Healing the Hero & Tactical Resiliency USA (TRUSA)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dan Jarvis.

Hi Dan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Dan Jarvis is a U.S. Army combat Infantryman, former Polk County Deputy Sheriff, and founder of Healing the Hero, a nonprofit Christian ministry devoted to ending the cycle of trauma and suicide among active duty, veterans, first responders, Gold Star families and immediate family members.

Born into a Navy family, Dan’s life of service started early and spanned two wars. He led combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan as an Infantry Squad Leader, earning a Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart. Between deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan he served as a U.S. Army Drill Sergeant, he shaped civilians into Soldiers. Yet Dan’s fiercest battle came after the uniform came off — confronting PTSD, survivor’s guilt, and depression that nearly claimed his life on March 2, 2013.

Frustrated with conventional therapies that failed many warriors, Dan founded 22ZERO with his ex-wife Dr. Gwinnell Brant in April 2018, where he developed the Trauma Resiliency Protocol (TRP) and Emotions Management Process (EMP) — pioneering methods designed to neutralize trauma without reliving it. These breakthroughs have helped thousands reclaim their lives. These methods are now patent pending. Dan resigned from 22ZERO in 2023.

In 2024, Dan launched Healing the Hero to continue this mission, combining peer-driven support with faith-integrated healing through his latest innovation — the Trauma Resiliency Protocol–Peer Rescue (TRP-PR) and the Jesus Protocol. These 9-line protocols diffuse trauma triggers and negative emotions in minutes and are now being scientifically validated through qEEG brain scans and heart rate variability research at Arizona State University with first responders, veterans and active-duty military.

Through his leadership, Healing the Hero is shaping national initiatives, including an upcoming study on corrections officers at the Cook County Jail — the largest and one of the most challenging correctional facilities in America — aiming to reverse the devastating mental health crisis among law enforcement. San Diego State University will publish this study with an Institutional Review Board with Dr. Trejbalova as the primary investigator.

“Healing is possible. I know, because I’ve lived it. Every hero deserves the chance to heal — fully, freely, and forever.”

Maze is Dan’s service dog, he inherited her in 2021 when Jared Hill a US Navy Iraq war veteran died by suicide at the age of 33.

Dan picked up Maze at Jared’s funeral where her emotions were extremely visible, she wouldn’t eat or drink for 3 days but they soon bonded and the rest is history.

Dan is now Maze’s service human and she is reportedly the best battle buddy one could have, Every time Dan see’s her he thinks of Jared and sees how critical the mission is, Healing the Hero is a no fail mission.

We lose 22 men and women a day in the veteran community, like Jared, something must change, that change is the narrative, PTSD can heal FULL STOP!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Their have been challenges in nonprofit worlds due to competing nonprofits and lack of organizations working together. Often times organizations are territorial. We offer a way to heal the emotional injury associated to trauma or unhealthy negative emotions. This can challenge organizations that exist to address PTSD and suicide. There are 45,000 veteran nonprofits throughout the US. Our mission has us on a race for irrelevance. If we fix the problem we don’t need to exist. We can then embrace another mission. Imagine a world where no one has to struggle with PTSD and know family has to endure a suicide.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Healing the Hero & Tactical Resiliency USA (TRUSA)?
Imagine finding a way to heal PTSD, easily and effortlessly. Tactical Resiliency USA (TRUSA) owns intellectual property rights to the Trauma Resiliency Protocol (TRP). A patent pending 9-Line protocol takes around 4-6 minutes to diffuse a trigger inside of a single trauma or negative emotion.
Healing the Hero has license to use TRP with American Heroes and their families at zero cost to the Hero or their family.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Finding a mentor is critical especially in the start up phase of business. A mentor for me in the nonprofit start up was a retired Green Beret, Scott Mann. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. prior to his retirement. Scott taught me about the power of story and taught me how to share my story on some pretty big stages.
