Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexia Gonzalez
Hi Alexia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
¡Hola! I’m Alexia Gonzalez, the creative mind behind The Gala Life and St. Pete Gals! As a bilingual on-air host, content producer, marketing agency owner, and communications specialist, I’ve spent more than a decade blending my passions for storytelling, culture, and connection into a dynamic career that thrives on creativity and authenticity.
My career kicked off at 12 years old, starting in musical theater and leading to acting in commercials and acting in soap operas and red-carpet reporting to recording a Billboard-charting Latin pop single with Sony Records, my journey has been anything but ordinary. I’ve also worked in corporate public relations for top hotel and travel brands, which gave me a front-row seat to the art of crafting unforgettable experiences. With a master’s degree in multicultural marketing and digital studies from Florida State University, I’ve mastered the art of creating impactful, scroll-stopping content that bridges cultures and speaks to the heart of my audience.
Currently, you can find me as a guest host on HSN, where I represent international fashion brands, or as a recurring host on NBC’s Daytime TV and Bloom TV. My on-air adventures have also taken me to Lifetime, TLC, Prime Video, and the Hallmark Channel, where I’ve shared stories that inspire and entertain.
But my creative energy doesn’t stop there! As the founder of The Gala Life, a curated luxury lifestyle platform, and The Gala Group, my bilingual communications agency, I’ve partnered with iconic brands like Visit Florida, Disney, Hilton, and more to deliver innovative campaigns that leave lasting impressions. My passion for community inspired me to create St. Pete Gals, a thriving group of female creators and entrepreneurs in Tampa Bay, empowering women to collaborate, connect, and shine. Beyond hosting and content creation, I love exploring the Sunshine State as a local travel and lifestyle influencer for Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater (VSPC). In 2024, I was thrilled to be nominated as “Best Influencer” by VSPC.
I also had the privilege of narrating, appearing in, and supporting production of “Meet My Abuela,” a heartfelt reality series by Visit Tampa Bay and Visit Florida that showcases the vibrant culture of our region. Every step of my career has been driven by a love for storytelling, a commitment to elevating others, and a desire to create memorable moments. Whether I’m hosting a morning radio show on El Zol 97.1FM, organizing immersive events, or building a community through The Gala Life, my mission is always the same: to inform, entertain, empower, and inspire.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not! My journey has been anything but smooth, but every twist and turn has shaped the path I’m on today. One of the most pivotal moments came when I was fired from my role as Director of Public Relations at a corporate PR agency. The reason? I had started my own digital platform on the side and began stepping outside of the corporate box. While it felt like a major setback at the time, it turned out to be one of the greatest blessings in disguise.
Instead of seeking another corporate role, I took a leap of faith and decided to bet on myself. With over a decade of experience in PR, digital marketing, and communications, I launched The Gala Group, my bilingual marketing agency, to focus on the goals and dreams that mattered most to me. It was a scary decision, but it allowed me to create something truly authentic and aligned with my passions.
Of course, building a business from the ground up wasn’t easy. I faced self-doubt, financial uncertainty, and the challenge of carving out my niche in a competitive industry. But I always remind myself—and others—that rejection is just redirection. That moment of “failure” became the fuel for my fire, pushing me to pursue my vision with relentless determination.
Today, I’m proud of the work I do, the clients I’ve served, and the communities I’ve built. The road may not have been smooth, but it’s been deeply fulfilling, and I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything.
As you know, we’re big fans of The Gala Group . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At The Gala Life and my creative ventures, it’s all about celebrating the luxe details that make life extraordinary, with a focus on local community! My work revolves around storytelling that connects, inspires, and leaves a lasting impression, whether it’s through vibrant social media content, engaging on-air hosting, or building empowering communities.
As the founder of The Gala Group, my bilingual marketing and communications agency, I specialize in crafting strategic, definition-driving campaigns for global lifestyle and travel brands. From PR and influencer collaborations to social media management and event curation, we bring creativity and cultural insight to every project. What sets us apart? Through The Gala Life, I spotlight the finer things in life, from travel and fashion to food and art. I’m proud to have collaborated with renowned brands like Disney, Hilton, and Visit Florida, sharing their stories through my platforms and bringing their visions to life.
And then there’s St. Pete Gals, a community near and dear to my heart! Designed to connect and elevate local female creators and entrepreneurs, it’s a space for women to collaborate, grow, and shine together. Whether it’s through events, content creation, or simply supporting each other’s dreams, St. Pete Gals is all about fostering connections that matter.
At the heart of everything I do is a deep love for storytelling, culture, and community. Whether I’m hosting a live TV segment, curating a brand campaign, or organizing a creative meet-up, my goal is always to empower others and inspire meaningful connections. If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s that every brand, every person, and every story has the potential to be extraordinary and I’m here to help bring that vision to life!
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Absolutely! My biggest piece of advice is to remember that rejection is just redirection. When I first started out, I had no idea how much failure and setbacks would teach me—every “no” was just a stepping stone to something better. The hardest part is always taking the first step, but trust me, you’ll never regret trying. You have to believe in yourself and put in the work because if you do, there will always be a safety net waiting for you.
Something else I wish I knew when I was starting out? Never underestimate the power of networking. Meet as many people as you can and build authentic relationships. You never know where a single connection might take you. Every conversation is an opportunity, so take the time to connect with others, offer your help, and lead with kindness and authenticity. When you do that, the universe will always find a way to reciprocate.
And lastly, always trust the process. You’ll face bumps along the way, but if you’re following your heart and staying true to yourself, the journey will be worth it. Keep pushing forward, and don’t let fear hold you back. Your dreams are closer than you think!
