Hi Kara, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It began as a vision, almost 15 years ago, that I believed someone else should make happen. When this didn’t happen, and the vision returned almost ten years later, my husband and I decided to start taking steps forward.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ha! There have been many many struggles along the way. One of the originals was finding a proper location that would allow a small business with no experience to rent. Then, of course, multiple financial obstacles, establishing community awareness, and figuring out what the heck I was doing.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Flow Fitness Boutique is a women’s fitness studio offering a variety of specialty fitness classes. We provide a judgment-free environment for all women to feel safe and confident getting healthy- body, mind, and spirit. Picture yourself getting a butt-kicking workout with women who have become your best friends, underneath chandeliers in a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere- That is Flow! ACTIVE is Flow’s new athleisure line, offering feminine but functional workout and leisurewear. We love community involvement and choose a different non-profit to donate to each quarter.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Take one step at a time! Always have the vision, but live in the moments. If you decide to “love well,” things will work out.
