Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie Tyrell.

Hi Annie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The thought of Annie’s Beauty Supply started in 2012 while I was taking a Bob Proctor’s Course, trying to determine my purpose in life. During one of our Mastermind discussions, one of our members said to me, Annie, start to write what would you do if money was not an issue. So, I started writing and being my own boss was the common denominator. I started researching business ideals and the beauty supply industry, which is Asian dominated, began to fall into place for me. I connected with The Beauty Supply Institute in Atlanta, GA which is basically a turn-key for setting up a beauty supply store. I took their courses and employed their assistance for the opening of Annie’s Beauty Supply, LLC in St. Petersburg and we opened our doors in May 2013. During a radio interview show a year after the opening of Annie’s Beauty Supply, the host stated he had researched Annie’s Beauty Supply and found it was listed as one of the Top 50 Black-Owned Beauty Stores in the nation. At the time, I was not aware of this and was really surprised, but I felt really good and inspired by this. Now in 2020, we are pivoting to a completely eCommerce store and delivering products to local barbers and stylists to become a mobile beauty store (Annie’s Beauty Supply On Wheels).

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road; money was and is my greatest struggle. I am totally self-funded and find it difficult to get the best wholesale pricing due to purchasing in small quantities. Of course, the more you order, the better your cost. After about three years, I was finally able to establish an account with one vendor with a net of 30 days, which allowed me to purchase more; another vendor (Asian) also finally allowed me to establish an account after about three years with a net of only ten days.

Annie’s Beauty Supply which is now eCommerce, a growing beauty supply store now bringing your favorite beauty supply products to your door. If you do not find your favorite product on our website, please email us at annie@anniesbeauty.com or text us at 888-587-5567 and we will do what we can to have your favorite products on our site for your next visit. Our ultimate goal is to give our customers what they want. We offer free delivery to our St. Petersburg, FL customers. Delivery time range from two to seven days depending upon if item ordered is in stock. There is only a delay if an item is back ordered and a vendor is slow to deliver. We sell hair care products, skincare products, hair accessories, jewelry, wigs, braiding hair, barber/stylist supplies and mask. Annie’s Beauty Supply is a strong supporter of local entrepreneurs. We also sell local home manufactured products on our site with an analogy. If we support each other, we will all grow together.
