Daily Inspiration: Meet Susel Ramos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Susel Ramos.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators ) and, like many post-grads, I hit that “wait… now what?” phase. I didn’t have a dream job lined up and somehow found myself teaching high school French at my old school- talk about déjà vu! It felt like Inception — suddenly I was colleagues with teachers who used to grade my essays. I quickly realized the public school system wasn’t the environment I wanted to grow in – low morale, lots of politics, and yes… the helicopter parents who had it out for me.
When that chapter ended (let’s call it a plot twist), my inner problem solver kicked in. I went back to grad school at FGCU and earned my M.A. in Educational Leadership – I even worked on campus with a stipend and they paid for my degree because I thought I’d return to the system and change policies from the inside out. But then… COVID hit. Cue another plot twist.
Jobs in education were scarce, and after a year of applying, I found myself jumping between higher ed departments – academic achievement, admissions — trying to make it all make sense. But the truth was: the paycheck and the politics weren’t matching the purpose or lifestyle I wanted.
Fast-forward to today, I’m thriving in a sales role as a Payroll & Business Consultant with ADP- thanks to a referral from my sorority sister (s/o sisterhood connections ). Ironically, after years of chasing titles and degrees in education, I found true fulfillment in sales – a field that has nothing to do with what I studied but everything to do with who I am: a connector, problem-solver, and entrepreneur at heart.
Now, I get to blend business, creativity, and community – building my dream life while empowering others to do the same. Plus, I am growing my online affiliate marketing business, growing as a content creator, and beginning my speaker & hosting company!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Ha! Smooth? Not even close. It’s been more like a scenic route – with a few potholes, detours, and a flat tire or two along the way.
My biggest struggles honestly started within myself – doubt, perfectionism, and the pressure to “have it all figured out.” I’ve always been ambitious, but sometimes that came with overthinking every step instead of trusting the process.
Then came the real-world challenges – and oh, there were plenty. During grad school, I faced one of the toughest seasons of my life. I was juggling a full course load, a campus job that covered my tuition, and several odd jobs on the side just to make ends meet. At one point, I even dealt with food insecurity because I didn’t qualify for food stamps. There were days when “meal prepping” meant donating plasma and using that money for groceries.
It wasn’t glamorous, but it taught me grit, gratitude, and how to hustle with purpose. Those experiences made me more resourceful, more grounded, and even more committed to building a life where I could help others create stability – not just financially, but mentally and emotionally too.
Now, every win feels that much sweeter because I know the struggle that came before it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently work at ADP as a Payroll & Business Consultant – and believe it or not, it’s the longest I’ve ever stayed at a company (which says a lot about how much I love what I do). Within my second year, I hit a major career milestone: I earned a spot in President’s Club, an elite incentive trip awarded to the top 3% of the company. ✨
Out of 30+ reps in my division, I was the only one who didn’t miss quota for an entire year – 12/12 months, baby! That consistency didn’t come from luck; it came from grit, gratitude, and a genuine passion for helping my clients.
I’m known among my clients for my patience, high-touch customer service, and ability to make complex topics like payroll, HR, and taxes actually make sense. What truly sets me apart, though, is my background in education – it gave me a deep sense of empathy and a teacher’s mindset. I don’t just sell; I teach, guide, and connect people with solutions that make their businesses run smoother.
What I’m most proud of is the journey itself – switching from education (where I didn’t even know how payroll worked beyond taxes coming out of my check) to mastering a field I once knew nothing about. That leap of faith not only transformed my career but also sparked my entrepreneurial side- leading to content creation, affiliate marketing, and building my personal brand around business, lifestyle, and motivation.
I like to say I’m the “Polished Payroll Partner” – helping businesses thrive by day, and helping dreamers build their brand and confidence by night

What was your favorite childhood memory?
OMG, so many! I’m an only child – spoiled, but not rotten (there’s a difference 😂). One of my absolute favorite memories is the first time my dad took me on the New York subway. He happened to have the day off, and instead of staying home, he said, “Let’s go on an adventure.”
We spent the day exploring the city, sightseeing, and eating our way through different spots – classic New Yorker style. Somewhere along the way, we took a photo together that we ended up framing, and to this day, it’s one of my most treasured keepsakes.
That day wasn’t fancy or planned – it was simple, real, and full of love. Just me and my dad, exploring the world one subway stop at a time.
